➢And Now . . . Robert Pattinson has Covid 19

Just a few days after filming resumed on the U.K. set of “The Batman”, production had to shut down again . . . because someone tested positive for COVID-19.

And several reports indicate it was Batman himself, ROBERT PATTINSON.  Warner Brothers won’t confirm it though.  All they’ll say is it was a member of the production.

The movie sees Batman in just his second year of crimefighting, where he crosses paths with the Riddler, the Penguin, and Selina Kyle BEFORE she becomes Catwoman.

➢ Some hikers at Montana’s Glacier National Park warned a DIFFERENT group of hikers on the trail below that a massive grizzly bear was heading their way.  They told them to make noise, but DON’T run . . . so, of course, they took off running.

Luckily, the grizzly decided to leave the trail, and nobody was hurt.

➢  A senior center near Houston has been doing drive-in bingo where everyone sits in their car and uses the radio to hear numbers being called.  And it’s a huge hit.  They don’t want people yelling out their windows.  So when you get bingo, you just honk your horn.

➢ A girl posted a video after someone in her online class didn’t know the answer to a question. So they used a sound bite to make it seem like their audio was cutting in and out.

➢ According to a new survey, the overwhelming majority of people would rather have you TEXT them than call them.  The only exception is people over 55.

72% of people under 39 would rather you text, and so would 61% of people between 40 and 54.

For people over 55, 35% prefer a text, 49% prefer a call.

Also, for what it’s worth, people who prefer calls over texts are almost three times less likely to have smartphones.

  1. Bidets are more popular than they used to be in North America.  And 42% of people who don’t have one now say they’d consider it.

FUNNIEST TWEETS FROM PARENTS THIS WEEK:
➢ My toddler had a meltdown. I finally got her to use her words and she told me she doesn’t like the floor. So. Yeah. — @unfilteredmama

➢ Idea: A “Scared Straight” program but for people thinking of becoming parents, where they have to wake teenagers up for school. — @RodLacroix

➢ I think I missed the chapter in the parenting books where it said that I would one day have to patiently wait for a stuffed monkey to take a pretend pee while I was running late. —

➢ My kids look like angels when they’re sleeping, and then they wake up and ransack the whole place like raccoons — @Chhappiness

➢ Parenting, where one minute you feel like you’ll explode from how much you love them and the next you’re screaming at them to stop ice skating on their own pee. — @SnarkyMommy78

GOOD NEWS

A 14yr old from Stratford just set a record swimming across Lake Erie.

Julia Notebomer became the youngest person to accomplish the feat after completing the nearly 20-kilometre swim last Sunday. In the process, Notebomer’s Waves for Wishes campaign raised more than $15,000 – and climbing – for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions.

She set the record on her 14th birthday – the earliest anyone can legally swim across one of the Great Lakes. The previous record holder was aged 14 years and 21 days.

With the cooperation of border agencies in both Canada and the U.S., she started her journey on the shores of Sturgeon Point, N.Y. – only touching the sand in the States – and crossed to Fort Erie’s Crystal Beach. Choppy conditions delayed the swim a few hours, but the waves and current, which pushed against her for much of the swim, settled the closer she got to Canada.

She would take a short break about every 30 minutes and ate some Nutella sandwiches, chocolate and candy. Her longest swim before this was 12.8km which she did last year.

DREAM (RESEARCH) TEAM:
A massive study of 24,000 dreams backs up previous studies that found they are continuations of what we experience while awake.

Researchers at Roma Tre University in Italy came up with a new way of converting test subjects’ “dream reports” into algorithmic solutions in order to automate the task of analyzing dream content (thus allowing for the massive size of their study).

They found their data supports the “continuity hypothesis”, the notion that dreams are a continuation of what happens in everyday life.

According to the researchers, the dream reports contained various “statistical markers” reflecting what the dreamers likely experienced while awake.

Lead researcher Alessandro Fogli says: “It turns out that everyday life impacts dreaming (e.g. anxiety in life leads to dreams with negative affect) and vice versa (e.g. dreaming impacts problem-solving skills).”

CARRIE UNDERWOOD RECALLS HER EARLY DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT

Most entertainers have endured countless unpleasant jobs along the way to realizing their dream in the spotlight, however Carrie Underwood was not one of those. In light of the upcoming Labor Day holiday, she tells us: [“My first job was at a gas station, and that was a lot of fun actually. While I was working at the gas station, I took another job at a hotel down the street. There was nobody else working there. I had one day of training and then the next day I came in, and the lady that had worked there the longest and was training me just didn’t show. So, the second day at work I was now in charge ‘cause I was now the senior member that was working at the hotel. So, I feel like that one was really challenging to figure my way through it, but I did.”]

Carrie was nominated for Entertainer and Female Vocalist of the Year at this year’s CMA Awards, it was announced earlier this week. The CMA Awards will be held in Nashville on Nov. 11th.

She is also up for Entertainer and Female Artist of the Year at the ACM Awards, which will air live from Nashville for the first time ever on Sept. 16th on CBS.

CARLY PEARCE SAYS CMA NODS MAKE THIS YEAR ‘EXTRA SPECIAL’

Carly Pearce helped announce the nominees at this year’s CMA Awards yesterday (Tuesday, Sept. 1st) during ABC’s Good Morning America and she heard her own named called four times. She’s vying for New Artist of the Year, Song of the Year (“I Hope You’re Happy Now”), Musical Event of the Year (“I Hope You’re Happy Now”), and Music Video of the Year (“I Hope You’re Happy Now”).

Carly tells us these nominations are very validating while at the same time almost more than she can comprehend. [“I mean, it’s crazy, and I feel like every facet of my artistry being recognized this year from being a collaborator with Lee (Brice) to being an artist with New Artist, to the visual piece and then for songwriter. It’s just . . . I don’t know. I really don’t know how to even put it into words. This one’s gonna take a second to understand what just happened because all I’ve ever wanted to do is what I’m doing, and I’ve watched the CMAs every year for my entire life, and this year is extra special.”]

The CMA Awards will be held in Nashville on Nov. 11th and will air live on ABC.

LADY A FINDS HEALTHY BALANCE IN CAREER

After almost 15 years together, Lady A members Charles Kelley, Hillary Scott and Dave Haywood have worked to find a healthy balance that keeps everyone happy both personally and professionally.  Dave tells us: [“I think one of the greatest things we’ve just worked through is finding the right balance. I mean, I know there’s never a perfect balance and we’d love to play tours that are 200 shows and play all over the world but we just have to pick and choose nowadays and so that’s kind of our greatest struggle is all right. We’ve got to hit 50 cities and we gotta bring our families and we gotta find that balance so we’re all happy and healthy. I mean this thing can last as long as we want it to. We have what we think is an amazing thing going and it’s just us finding how each of us kind of fit into that.”]

“Champagne Night” will be included on Lady A’s next project.

CHRIS JANSON RECALLS HIS LONG LIST OF ODD JOBS

Chris Janson worked a slew of odd jobs before landing his current dream job of performing artist. He says he’s been working since the age of nine, and while he’s tried his hand at a lot of different things, he found some joy in all of them. Heading into this Labor Day weekend, Chris tells us: [“Bailing hay, I don’t like that. Mowing the lawn, so-so. I mean, when I had to do it, it sucked. Now that I don’t have to do it I kind of want to do it. I kind of enjoyed making sno-cones. I had a sno-cone business for a second. I mean, that wasn’t that bad. I don’t guess I’ve ever really done anything that I hated or didn’t really like. I’ve always kind of found peace and joy in whatever.”]

Chris will release his new single called “Waitin’ On 5,” which speaks to the blue collar workers everywhere. It’s the third single from 2019 Real Friends album.
