On Today’s Show

SpaceX is planning to launch its first all-civilian flight this fall.  And a 29-year-old woman who beat cancer as a kid just got a free ticket.  Her name is Hayley Arceneaux.  She was a patient at St. Jude’s two decades ago, and now works there as a physician assistant.  A billionaire named Jared Isaacman is paying for her seat.  And you could also win one by donating at least $10 to St. Jude’s by this Sunday.  (Here’s a clip of Hayley and Jared talking about it.)

A woman in Alaska named Shannon Stevens used an outhouse while camping last weekend, and got attacked from below by a BEAR.  It got in through an access hole that was covered up by rocks.  She ended up with a puncture wound, but wasn’t seriously injured.

Two women in Florida were caught trying to get the vaccine by dressing up as old ladies.  One of them is 44, and the other is 34.  It turned out they’d already gotten their first dose using a fake I.D. and were coming back for their booster shot.  They didn’t get it though, and the cops shamed them pretty hard.  It doesn’t sound like they’re facing charges though.

This feels like a world record that was destined to fall during the pandemic.  A 24-year-old woman in Belleville, Ontario set the world record for finishing a 40,320-piece puzzle of Disney characters in 150 hours.  The old record was 423 hours.

On “Home Improvement”TIM ALLEN and RICHARD KARN played the hosts of a show called “Tool Time”.  Now they’re back, hosting a History Channel competition series called “Assembly Required”, and they’ve come full circle.

Tim calls “Assembly Required” sort of a real-life version of “Tool Time” .

“Assembly Required” features builders competing from their own home shops, with Tim and Richard visiting them virtually to, quote, “deliver colorful commentary and oversee their work.”

The show debuts TONIGHT at 10:00 P.M.

TODAY IS……………….

  • “Banana Bread Day”, the first cookbooks mentioning banana bread were published during the Great Depression. Culinary historians believe that a resourceful housewife who didn’t want to throw away over-ripe bananas may have invented the original recipe.

  • “Diesel Engine Day”, on this day in 1893, Rudolf Diesel received a patent for his diesel engine. Instead of gasoline, this engine burns fuel oil, and uses compressed air in the cylinder instead of a spark to ignite the fuel.

ESCAPED COW CHARGES INTO HOSPITAL WAITING ROOM AND ATTACKS PATIENTS

An escaped cow ran inside a hospital in Colombia and wreaked havoc on those in the waiting room. Security cameras show a group of people running for safety but the cow still manages to catch up and slams into them. In the video the cow falls several times, and some patients escape, but the animal leaves an injured woman trapped on the floor as two men manage to grab the animal’s lead and pull it away. The cow is eventually seen exiting the hospital. Reports say that nobody was seriously injured in the incident.

WATER FOR A SNAKE

An Indian man came to the rescue of a thirsty — and potentially deadly — cobra by pouring water from a bottle into the venomous snake’s mouth. The video, shared by Indian Forest Service officer Susanta Nanda, shows the man, believed to be an IFS official, gently holding the water bottle while the cobra drinks from the opening.  The man touches the cobra with his other hand to keep the snake steady and calm while drinking.

UNCLASSIFIED FLYING OBJECTS:
The US Pentagon has admitted that it has held on to and tested wreckage from UFO crashes. Researcher Anthony Bragalia wrote a letter to the Defence Intelligence Agency 3 years ago requesting details of UFO material and tests that may have been carried out.

In response to his Freedom of Information request, the DIA released 154 pages of results, including information of a ‘memory’ metal called Nitinol which remembers its original shape when folded.

Bragalia says what he received is a “stunning admission” that The Pentagon has held and tested debris from UFOs. Quote: “They have been able to learn some things about the materials of construction which hold tremendous promise as futuristic materials which will change our lives forever.” But the DIA did hold back certain details, including whether any materials could be of alien origin.

MLB Is Stuck with Four Million Unused Bobbleheads from Last Season

Major League Baseball is stuck with FOUR MILLION bobbleheads that were supposed to be given out last year.  In some cases, they can just be held for the future, but a lot of the featured players are no longer with their teams.

For example, the Pittsburgh Pirates had a Trevor Williams bobblehead day set for last August.

They planned on giving away 10,000 bobbleheads with Trevor in a “Star Wars”-inspired stormtrooper outfit. The celebration never happened . . . and now, Williams has moved on to the Chicago Cubs.  The Pirates sent him 200 of the bobbleheads . . . and the rest, which are jammed into 917 boxes, are in a storage unit in Pittsburgh.

The company that makes the majority of the bobbleheads estimates that about FOUR MILLION of them are sitting in warehouses somewhere.

Obviously, the teams will try to use some of the items in future promotions, offer them to season-ticket holders, or donate them to charity.  And really, there are a lot of kids who won’t care if the player is no longer with the team. Worst case . . . the teams will just recycle them.

THOMAS RHETT AND DISNEY MUSIC

Thomas Rhett has got some competition when it comes to his music as far as his three daughters are concerned, but they are also big fans of their dad’s music. He tells us: [“My girls, at this state, listen to nothing but the Disney+ channel. And they’re all over the Moana soundtrack, the Mulan soundtrack.  But they do you love country music, and so even when I turn the radio on, if it’s not my voice coming through the radio, then they tell me to change it and put one of my songs on, which definitely forces me to really dislike a lot of my songs before the record even comes out because all they want to listen to is daddy’s music.”]

CHASE BRYANT SURVIVED SUICIDE ATTEMPT

Chase Bryant has revealed that he tried to commit suicide back in 2018. The failed attempt was brought on by depression and anxiety, along with turning into someone he no longer recognized. He told People, “I was chasing success… I wasn’t chasing happiness. I was trying to be something I wasn’t.”

Chase said he went to a gas station in Nashville, left a long goodbye note on the seat of his truck and put his loaded .357 revolver to his head. He pulled the trigger, but nothing happened. After checking the chamber, he realized the gun had only five bullets in it, not six.

He said, “So, when I looked at it at that moment, it was like, life’s too short, don’t make it any shorter. It ain’t worth it. We all have something to be thankful for, right? Looking back at it now, it’s so weird. You’re so dark and then all of a sudden you’re like, ‘OK, I got to get my s**t right so I can help somebody else.'”

Chase has been back in the studio working on his first full-length project he has titled Upbringing
