Florida deputies rescued a 73-year-old woman from a sinking car last Saturday, and their bodycam videos recorded it.  Listen as it happens, here.

Two drunk guys in Australia got carried miles out to sea on an inflatable mattress . . . but they only panicked when they started running out of beer.  Luckily, they had just enough phone battery to call for help.

There’s nothing like going on a camping trip where you’re one strong gust of wind away from falling to your death in the middle of the night.

The Coast Guard in North Yorkshire, England got a call on Saturday afternoon after someone spotted a family’s camping tent set up on a small patch of grass just two feet from the edge of a cliff.  A cliff with a 280-FOOT drop. Oh, and that area is known for landslides.

An officer says they explained the dangers to the two adults and the child in the tent and got them to move.

You know those one-way arrows on the grocery store floor telling you which way to walk? Do you obey them…or just think of them as a “suggestion”? New research says directional arrows can be “highly effective” in reducing the rate of transmission. The study found that when following the one-way shopping aisles, the rate of direct transmission fell by 70%.

Partial compliance cuts the rate by 11%.

“Dexter” fans have been excited about the upcoming series revival, and now star Michael C. Hall seems to have subtly hinted that there could be more episodes beyond that.

Recently, Hall sat down to discuss the revival and was asked if this will mark the end of the franchise. His response? “I’m reluctant to say ‘definitely’, you know? What’s plain now is that there’s 10 new episodes.”

The revival will pick up a decade after the series’ 2013 finale, with Hall’s ‘Dexter Morgan’ now living in the fictional small town of Iron Lake, in Upstate New York.

Woman Discovers a Secret Room Connected to Her New York Apartment

Samantha Hartsoe who lives in NYC discovered her apartment was secretly connected to a whole other vacant apartment.  She felt air blowing from her bathroom mirror, so she removed it and saw a large hole that led to an empty room.

When she crawled through the hole she discovered the rest of that apartment.

She documented the spine-tingling discovery in a series of TikTok videos that have collectively amassed millions of views.

The plot thickens in “Part 2,” when Hartsoe and her friends decide to remove the mirror, revealing a dilapidated hallway with a hidden room at the end. One of her pals compares it to a secret dungeon from a movie.

Unfortunately, Hartsoe’s apartment reveal — which doesn’t happen until Part 4 — is a bit anticlimactic. After perusing the space while armed with a hammer, Hartsoe discovers what appears to be “a whole other apartment,” with a disconnected toilet, some exposed pipes and a few trash bags and boxes.

“Made it out alive,” she says after exiting the space, and adding as she replaces her bathroom mirror, “My landlord’s getting a really fun phone call tomorrow.”

Harry and Meghan Intervew with Oprah

OPRAH’s interview with PRINCE HARRY and MEGHAN MARKLE aired last night, and some pretty heavy bombs were dropped.

Apparently, when Meghan was pregnant with their son Archie, they were told he wouldn’t receive a royal title, and they wouldn’t provide security for him . . . which would be a break in tradition.

Also, according to Meghan, there were, quote, “concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

This was apparently a conversation between Harry and someone within the royal organization, but Meghan refused to name the person because, quote, “It would be very damaging to them.”

Harry confirmed that it happened, but refused to speak about it.  But at a different point in the conversation, he said he loves his family very much.  His relationship with QUEEN ELIZABETH is still tight.

But he admitted things are strained with PRINCE CHARLES, and there’s, quote, “a lot to work through.”  He also said he felt “really let down” by him.  And Harry’s relationship with his brother PRINCE WILLIAM is, quote, “space, at the moment.”

Meghan’s mental health was a huge reason she and Harry stepped back from their royal duties.  The media was BRUTAL to her, and despite promises that the family and its people would protect her and stick up for her, they never really did.

She asked repeatedly if she could get some sort of professional help.  But The Firm, which is the organization that handles Royal business, refused her because, quote, “it wouldn’t be good for the institution.” Meghan reaching such a low point was the final straw that led them to step back.  And Harry said it helped him realize that HE was trapped, too.

Quote, “I was trapped, but I didn’t know I was trapped.  Trapped within the system.  My father and my brother, they are trapped.  They don’t get to leave.  And I have huge compassion for that.”

To end things on a lighter note, Meghan and Harry are expecting a GIRL . . . and they say they’re done having kids after this one.

GOOD NEWS

A Lithuanian man has survived an incredible 14 hours in the Pacific Ocean after falling off a cargo ship during a 3,500-mile supply run.

The Silver Supporter’s chief engineer, Vidam Perevertilov, felt dizzy after a night shift in the engine room as the ship traveled from Tauranga, New Zealand, to the remote Pitcairn Islands, and went out on deck to get some fresh air. It was 4am on Feb. 16.

Perevertilov’s son, Marat, who communicated with his father via message chat says that the 52-year-old may have fainted as he doesn’t actually remember the plunge. He was not wearing a life jacket and was then some 400 nautical miles from the nearest land.

He struggled to stay afloat until the sun came up, then made a last-ditch swim for a far-off black dot, which turned out to be an old, unanchored fishing buoy that was caught in some floating garbage.

Swiss researchers say that wearing socks coated in zinc oxide nanoparticles can prevent foot odor and ‘pitted keratolysis’, which is a bacterial infection that leads to smelly feet. In a study involving 148 cadets at the Thai Naval Rating School, those wearing zinc-coated socks reported much fewer foul odors coming from their feet than other soldiers. The researchers say these new socks could provide a new primary prevention option for both military personnel and civilians who are susceptible to “these embarrassing and unpleasant conditions.”

DISTRACTED JAMMING:
A new study has found that most young adults are more likely to make sure their music playlists are just right than to adjust their mirrors and seats correctly before driving.

Researchers from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Isreal say nearly every young driver they studied believes driving without music playing is “impossible”. And study authors say the wrong songs can actually make driving more challenging and young drivers more dangerous.

Prof. Warren Brodsky said in a release that drivers between ages 18-29 are “so used to constant stimulation and absorbing great amounts of information throughout the day, that they don’t question how the type of tunes they play might affect concentration, induce aggressive behavior, or cause them to miscalculate risky situations.”

In their study, 97% of young drivers told researchers they prefer listening to several short songs when taking a long trip. Nearly two-thirds said they play “fast paced” music on their way to work. And 90% put on upbeat dance music when driving to a party.
