On Today’s Show
March 16, 2021 9:35 am➢ A guy was so bored during quarantine he built an entire video store in his basement. The TikTok videos of it are amazing. And he even built a little adult film section behind the counter. Here’s his wife giving a tour.
➢ It’s not safe to drive in any type of seat that isn’t secured inside your vehicle. The Wisconsin State Patrol shared a photo on Twitter of a vehicle that was recently stopped. The car had been pulled over for an “equipment violation,” but when the trooper approached, he saw the vehicle “was not equipped with seats and the driver was seated in a camping chair.” The tweet did not say whether the driver was given a ticket or a warning.
➢ Heinz just came up with three new condiment mash-ups: Hanch, which is hot sauce and ranch . . . Wasabioli, which is wasabi and garlic aioli . . . and Tarchup, which is tartar sauce and ketchup. For now, these are only available in Canada. (Here’s a clip from the video they posted on Twitter.)
➢ A guy named Don Ford is a reporter for the CBS TV station in San Francisco. And he was doing a report from a neighborhood that’s been seeing a lot of car break-ins lately.
And while he was there, a car pulled up . . . and the guys jumped out and robbed Don at gunpoint. He says, quote, “Three guys jumped out. One had a gun and put it in my face and said, ‘We’re taking the camera.'” He gave up the camera and fortunately, no one was hurt.
The police found the camera later that day thanks to a tracking chip inside. There’s no word on whether they have any suspects.
➢ Don Johnson revealed that if his kids didn’t go to college, they got cut off financially. That’s what happened with Dakota Johnson, but she did fine without his money. (From Seth Meyers on Wednesday, March 10, 2021)

FOUR RANDOM FACTS
- The most serious crime in ancient Rome was killing a parent . . . the punishment was being sewn into a bag with a monkey, snake, dog, and chicken, and then thrown into a river to drown.
- The world record for bench press was 364 pounds in 1916. It’s now more than TRIPLE that . . . a guy named Will Barotti bench pressed 1,105 pounds last year.
- In Europe, Cool Ranch Doritos are called Cool American Doritos.
- The tongue twister “She sells seashells by the seashore” was inspired by a female paleontologist named Mary Anning who sold fossils out of a little stand on Dorset Beach in England in the early 1800s.

GOOD NEWS
A 60-year-old woman in Miami named Dora Moreau has been cooking enough to feed 1,000 people a week since the pandemic started.
Her church pays for the ingredients, and she’s been borrowing a truck to haul it all.
So, a charity recently stepped in and got her a new car.

TICKET TO BE DISMISSED FOR DRIVER WHO SWERVED TO AVOID COUCH
Sometimes reckless driving isn’t as reckless as it seems. A driver who crashed her car while swerving to avoid a couch falling from a truck on Interstate 95 got her $166 traffic citation waived. The incident happened on February 20th, and the Florida Highway Patrol released a statement saying the “citation had been issued in error.” The couple had been driving north on I-95 when the couch fell from the truck, and the driver lost control of the car when she swerved to avoid the tumbling sofa. The 2006 Toyota Corolla hit the median and rolled over—it was totaled.
CAR GETS CAUGHT IN SUDDEN DEER STAMPEDE ON MICHIGAN ROAD
Do you think this would be covered by insurance? The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office shared a video recently that showed a car traveling on a rural road that was suddenly jumped onto and over by a stampede of deer. The dashboard camera footage shows the car quickly coming to a stop and some deer jumping right over it, while some end up jumping onto the car and either jumping or falling off. The sheriff’s office said no humans or deer were injured in the incident.

What Food Could You Not Live Without?
A new survey asked people what foods they absolutely couldn’t live without.
The top 10 are: Mac and cheese . . . butter . . . pizza . . . milk . . . bread . . . bacon . . . pasta . . . cheese . . . burgers . . . and peanut butter.
The survey also found we’re willing to go through some PAIN to eat our favorite foods.
60% of people say they sometimes wake up with a “food hangover” because of what they ate the night before.
And two-thirds of people say they’ll eat a food they love even if they have an allergy or intolerance to it . . . like someone who’s lactose intolerant will still put down a block of cheese once in a while because it’s worth the pain.

BENEFITS OF APPLE CIDER VINEGAR:
Some call it a cure-all…here is what science says it can…and can’t do-
⇒ Lower blood sugar: No vinegar has been shown to significantly alter or prevent diabetes, but acetic acid can be used as one tool in helping lower blood sugar.
⇒ Cough and sore throat: Bad idea. It could irritate the throat even more, and because it is an acid, could even ‘burn’ the lungs a little.
⇒ Heart disease and cancer: Studies show it can reduce blood pressure and cholesterol in rodents, but full-blown studies have not been conducted in humans. It has also been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in mice. No word on that for humans yet, either.
⇒ Weight loss: There is some evidence it can help. In a study, people lost an average of 2-4 pounds per month over a placebo.
⇒ Teeth cleaning & whitening: Don’t go there. You’re putting acid on your teeth, thus wearing down the enamel, and causing cavities.
⇒ Mosquito bites: It helps. If you have a lot of bites, put two cups in a full tub of water and soak.
⇒ All-purpose cleaner: The acid is effective against mold, but so are salt, lemon juice, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil and baking soda, and they smell better. Apple cider is great against alkaline grime such as hard water and mineral deposits, as well as soap scum, but it won’t cut grease.

DUSTIN LYNCH SPENT 2020 BEING VERY ‘CREATIVE’
Dustin Lynch has spent the past year at his Nashville area home working toward his next studio album. He also got to spend quality time with friends and adjusted to everyday life with his girlfriend during quarantine. He tells us: [“I immediately started writing, I started doing a lot of living at the house and got to pull from in a sense being forced to be at home with my girlfriend and us figuring out how to do life together, cause usually we’re bouncing all over the place in separate places working, so that was all new, and (I) just became very creative and I got to spend a lot of time on the water with my friends, so last year was all about really living and writing from those experiences and gearing up for this next release.”]
He will release a new single called “Thinking ‘Bout You,” on March 19th. He originally recorded the duet with Lauren Alaina for his Tullahoma album, but Dustin has re-recorded the song with MacKenzie Porter. Dustin’s Tullahoma album was released in January 2020.
The project has produced two Number One hits – “Good Girls” and “Ridin’ Roads.”

CARLY PEARCE’S ’29’ IS RELEASED
Carly Pearce‘s brand new project, 29, documents her 29th year of life, which included the death of her close friend and producer, Busbee, as well as her eight-month marriage and divorce from fellow singer Michael Ray.
Carly tells us the idea for “29” came to her while she was visiting her parents in Alabama during quarantine and making some big personal decisions. [“I knew I had decisions to make long before the world knew and I was on the phone with a girlfriend kind of talking through some things and I said, ‘You know, I think I’m gonna have to write a song called ’29’, make a project around it, the year I got married and divorced,’ and she was silent and she goes, ‘Have fun with that,’ (laughs) and the end of that chorus I think is why I decided to go there. It’s like ‘I thought I was gonna live it up, now I’m never gonna live it down,’ and this is kind of like my song to myself of going, ‘I’m gonna own it. I see it. Yes, but it’s okay.'”]

The Texas Rangers Named a Spring Training Field After Charley Pride
The Texas Rangers named a field at their spring training complex after the
late CHARLEY PRIDE. It’s called Charley Pride Field and it’s located in Surprise, Arizona.
Charley held a part-ownership stake in the team, but his love of the sport started as a player in the 1950s.
He pitched in the Negro Leagues, and the Minor Leagues for the Yankees, Mets, and California Angels organizations . . . until injuries derailed his career. Fortunately, he happened to be an amazing singer so that worked out pretty well.
He lived in Texas and was a huge Rangers fan. They’d let him work out with the team . . . and he staged an annual clubhouse concert for players and staff.
