On Today’s Show
March 30, 2021 9:35 am➢ Police in Vancouver are looking for a guy who walked into an art museum and vandalized a piece of artwork made of BUBBLE WRAP by POPPING the bubbles.
It happened last month, but they just released his photo. They’re hoping someone might recognize him.
The artwork he vandalized is called “Delta Trim.” It’s about a foot-and-a-half tall and 21 feet wide. It’s made entirely of bubble wrap, reflective tape, zip ties, Velcro, and moose hides.
It’s not clear how many bubbles he popped, but officials say he caused about $6,000 in damage.
➢ Does the U.S. have secret evidence of UFOs breaking the sound barrier . . . using technology that’s beyond what humans are capable of right now? The former Director of National Intelligence says yes. (His name is John Ratcliffe.)
➢ A long-dormant volcano in Iceland began erupting on Friday (March 19th.) And since then, many have gone to see the volcano near Iceland’s capital Reykjavik (Ray-gyah-veek). It was the area’s first volcanic eruption in nearly 800 years. On Tuesday (March 23rd) Iceland’s civil protection officials were seen gesturing to dozens of people to move away from lava that was just meters behind them to ensure visitors did not get hurt. One of the visitors decided to try and cook bacon and eggs on the lava—but the pan melted. Officials say they don’t anticipate evacuations because the volcano is in a remote area, about 1.5 miles from the nearest road.
➢ A guy who runs a food podcast just finished a three-year quest to invent the perfect pasta noodle. It’s called “cascatelli” and it’s a rainbow shape that can hold a lot of sauce. A company called Sfoglini is now selling the pasta . . . but there’s a 12-week waiting list if you want to get your hands on it.

HERO FOOTBALL PLAYER
New England Patriots offensive tackle Justin Herron was honored as a hero by the Tempe (Arizona) Police Department for helping to stop an attempted sexual assault in a park.
Police said a 30-year-old suspect was seen pushing a 71-year-old retired teacher to the ground. That’s when Herron and a second man, Murry Rogers, intervened.
Herron has been training in Arizona. Police said “If not for the swift actions of Mr. Justin Herron and Mr. Murry Rogers, this vicious attack could’ve been much worse. The impact they’ve had on our victim’s life; these two individuals stepped forward and truly saved her life.”
Police said the victim has experienced “a significant amount of trauma, but she is working through some of these things and physically doing OK.”
Herron said he heard screaming in the park and reacted. “You see it in movies and TV all the time, but you never think it’s going to happen in real life until it does. In that moment, I was in shock,” Herron said. “It was 11, in the middle of the day, not one cloud in the sky and in a very open field. The fact it happened there, at that time, was very shocking. In the moment, I wish I could tell you what I was thinking. I just knew someone just needed help.”
Herron, who is 6-foot-5 and 305 pounds said his size helped.
“I’m a football player, so I’m kind of big,” Herron said. “I try not to be too aggressive with people knowing I could potentially hurt somebody. I do have a very loud voice, so all I did was just yell, tell him to get off her, and then yanked him off. And I told him to sit down and wait until the cops come.”
Police said the victim has since met with Herron and Rogers and “there was not a dry eye in the room.”

Why Is Carrie Underwood So Afraid of Turtles?
CARRIE UNDERWOOD is a vegetarian who loves all animals. Well, except maybe turtles . . . but that’s only because she got nipped too many times when she was a kid, and now she’s afraid of them.
She talked about it on “The Drew Barrymore Show”. Quote “It’s not a petrifying fear of turtles. Out of all animals, they’re the ones who have bit me the most. I grew up in the country, and turtles were the easiest things to catch because they’re slow.
“I would catch them, and I love animals so much that I’d always try to pet or hug them and that led to them taking opportunities. I’ve been bitten by lots of turtles. It does not feel good.”
(Animal bites can be deadly, so let’s NOT go there. Instead: “What animal gives you nightmares for no reason? You haven’t been bitten or attacked . . . they just scare you witless and you don’t even want to be in the same room?”)

Guy’s Opening Line on Tinder Is a Detailed French Fry Recipe . . . and It Works
There’s a 26-year-old woman named Collier Fernekes who lives in D.C. Earlier this month, she matched with a guy named John on Tinder. And his first message to her was . . . a detailed recipe for the French fries he wanted to make for her.
Quote, “Hey, I want you to come over so I can make you some Cajun fries. I’m going to buy some low moisture Yukon Gold potatoes and boil them for you. I’m going to refrigerate them overnight in different water from the water I boiled them in.”
He just keeps going on and on from there. Collier says she loved how different and specific his message was . . . so she tweeted it.
The tweet went viral, and before her and John had their first Zoom date there were more than 66,000 people who were invested in what would happen.
Fortunately, it went well . . . and she says after she gets the vaccine, they’re going to meet up in person for those fries. And she’ll keep everyone on social media updated.

NEW DOGS FOR THE QUEEN:
It seems that while Queen Elizabeth was worrying about her 99-year-old husband, Prince Philip, being hospitalized for the last month, she decided to occupy herself by welcoming new corgis to the royal family. The Queen has a long history as a pet owner.
The 94-year-old has owned more than 30 dogs during her reign, most of them corgis. But in recent years, it has been reported that she decided to stop getting new dogs for fear of leaving any behind.
Both are said to be bringing in a lot of noise and energy into the castle, and have been given the very meaningful names of “Fergus” and “Muick” (pronounced ‘Mick’). Fergus is named after the Queen’s uncle, Fergus Bowes-Lyon, son of the 14th Earl of Strathmore, who bravely died for his country in WW1.
Muick is named after Loch Muick, one of the Queen’s favorite places on the Balmoral estate.
BROTHERS OSBORNE ON HOW ‘ALL NIGHT’ WAS WRITTEN
Before the pandemic began, John and TJ of Brothers Osborne were working on their album, Skeletons when a song idea came up. TJ tells us how they wrote “All Night”… [“It was before all this stuff happened, and these are the type of moments that get lost with Zoom (writing). So, we were there (in the studio) just chatting, just catching up with each other, and John just starts playing this lick and he had a baritone guitar, and it was badum, badum, badum and he had a baritone guitar, and I was like, ‘Stop! Everybody stop talking! Like that is awesome. Let’s write that right now!’ And we did. And that’s like, obviously, that’s my favorite part of the song. It’s like this badass like awesome guitar part. That type of thing is definitely lost on Zoom, but I think being there in the moment, that was like the leading thing that happened. And then we started working with these compound words and we were like, ‘All Night, I got this, you got that,’ and we kind of put it together.”]
They are nominated for two ACM Awards, including Duo of the Year and Album of the Year for Skeletons.

Trisha Yearwood on Caylee Hammack’s “Homegrown Loofah” . . . and Lauren Alaina “Jr.”
When TRISHA YEARWOOD isn’t busy making music, writing cookbooks, or hanging out with that guy named Garth, she spends time mentoring the younger female country singers. She was asked about it in a recent interview.
Quote, “What’s been cool for me is I’ve embraced the role of, ‘hey, I’ve been around for 30 years, so I’m not the new kid on the block anymore,’ and I’ve enjoyed becoming friends with some of these young girls.
“I’ve gotten a chance to sing with Lauren Alaina. She’s a hoot and I call her ‘Junior,’ because she’s from Georgia. Her story is very similar to mine growing up.
“And then Caylee Hammack who opened some shows for me, she grows loofah. I didn’t even know you could grow loofah . . . and she sent me some in the mail. I got homegrown loofah from Caylee Hammack.”
Trisha believes we’re heading in the right direction. Quote, “I think country music for women is in really good hands and I’m happy to be the old chick that they like.”
