A 12-year-old in West Virginia named Trent Jarrett got pinned under his ATV during a TikTok live stream, and no one else was around.

But luckily, a 13-year-old in New Hampshire named Caden Cotnoir was watching . . . called for help . . . and Trent’s okay.   He was trapped for about 20 minutes.

This mom wanted to prove that her kids hate it when she yodels, but was totally surprised by the reaction she got.  Check it out, here.

(Her little daughter hated yodeling so much she started spanking mom’s bottom.)

Surveillance cameras outside one’s home won’t just capture footage of humans. a man in Utah uploaded footage from his Ring camera to a TV station website which shows four cougars near the homeowner’s basement door. One even appears to peek in through a window. Cougar sightings have become more common in the area, but the animals are known for being reclusive and solitary, and it’s rare to see more than one at a time.

Patrick Schwarzenegger admits his dad uses his movie catchphrases in real life.  Like when he’s leaving the room.  Quote, “He’ll turn back and be like, ‘I’ll be back.’  I’ll be like, ‘Dad, really?'”  (From “The Kelly Clarkson Show” on Thursday, April 15, 2021)

Here Are the Life Skills We Wish We’d Learned in School

I haven’t used much trigonometry lately, and I also haven’t had to have any important in-depth conversations on symbolism in “Tess of the d’Urbervilles”.  So I guess I was right to ask my teachers, “When are we going to need this in real life?”

According to a new survey, 83% of parents think schools should spend some time teaching important life skills to go along with all the standard academic stuff.  And here are the 10 life skills we wish we’d learned in school . . .

  1. How to save money.
  2. How to budget and organize your finances.
  3. How to invest.
  4. How to take care of your mental health.
  5. How taxes work.
  6. How to be confident.
  7. How to cook basic meals.
  8. How to start a business.
  9. How to buy a house.
  10. How to create a resume.

HAPPY MEAL:

It seems that when it comes to eating, it’s not just what you eat, but who you eat it with and where, when it comes to staying trim.

Food experts studying how the pandemic has shaped family mealtimes have found in interviews with teenagers that they report vast improvement in their health, as a result of eating at the table with their families, and without their phones or tablets. In a study published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, researchers note that slower eating and conversation can help adolescents to recognize when they’re full.

When families devoted less time to each other, did not sit at the table, were distracted by phones or did not engage in conversation, they also ate more unhealthily, and were more likely to be obese. Parents also found they were able to forge closer bonds with their teenage children if they ate together, and those who established healthy eating patterns for their children were more successful.

The study backed up other results which demonstrate eating together as a family is related to a healthier diet, with more fruit and vegetables, and fewer sugary drinks.

LITTLE BIG TOWN’S PHILLIP SWEET TESTS POSITIVE FOR COVID

Little Big Town‘s Phillip Sweet has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not be joining the group when they perform live on the ACM Awards on Sunday (April 18th). Karen Fairchild, Jimi Westbrook and Kimberly Schlapman told Taste of Country Nights that while he’s on the mend, Phillip’s not well enough to be in public.

Kimberly said she recently left chicken and dumplings on his doorstep to aid in his recovery.

Little Big Town will perform their current single, “Wine Beer Whiskey,” on Nashville’s lower Broadway on the ACM Awards. They are also nominated for Vocal Group of the Year. The ACM Awards will air on CBS beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

CHRIS STAPLETON PAYS TRIBUTE TO BELOVED DOG DURING ACM AWARDS

In addition to being nominated for multiple awards at this weekend’s ACM Awards

Chris Stapleton will perform a song from his ACM-nominated album, Starting Over, called “Maggie’s Song.” The tear-jerker was written about their beloved dog, Maggie, whom the family had for 14 years.  [“She was a dog that deserved a song so I wrote a song about her the day after she died. That song happened to carry through to me being allowed to play it live, and we wound up in the studio and we recorded it, and now it lives in the world to make people more sad than they deserve to be (laughs) in a year that we don’t need much of that, but I loved that dog very much, and she was a great member of our family.”]

Chris heads into Sunday’s (April 18th) 56th ACM Awards as the lead nominee with six nominations in four categories: Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Album of the Year (Starting Over as both artist and producer) and Song of the Year (“Starting Over” as both artist and songwriter). ____________________________________________________________________________

ERIC CHURCH HAS NEW PERSPECTIVE ON ENTERTAINER OF THE YEAR

Eric Church is the reigning CMA Entertainer of the Year, and he’s up for the same honor at Sunday (April 18th) night’s ACM Awards in Nashville. Since taking home CMA Entertainer in November, Eric tells us he has a completely new perspective on carrying that title. [“Coming off the CMA Entertainer of the Year, I did not know what that award would mean to me. I know what that award means to the format; I know what that means historically, and I tried to live up to that.”]

Eric is also nominated for Male Artist and Music Event of the Year for “Does To Me” with Luke Combs. He is set to perform during the live ACM Awards broadcast, which airs on CBS beginning at 8 p.m. ET.

Today (Friday, April 16th) marks the release of Heart, the first of Eric’s three-part Heart & Soul project.

MIRANDA LAMBERT LAUNCHES ‘LOVE HARDER’ CAMPAIGN TO HELP DOGS GET ADOPTED

Miranda Lambert is helping those dogs that need the most help, specifically pit mixes, senior dogs, black dogs, and dogs with disabilities with the “Love Harder” campaign. Her nonprofit, MuttNation Foundation, will be dedicating 2021 to highlighting and busting the myths about these special pets that are often overlooked or last-in-line for adoption.

Visit muttnation.com/loveharder and upload a photo along with a brief message about why you adopted your “easy to love, harder to get adopted dog” and what makes her or him so special – and you’ll have a chance to win a one-of-a-kind Epiphone guitar signed by Miranda.

The “Love Harder” campaign kicked off (Thursday, April 8th) on MuttNation and Miranda’s social platforms with a video of Miranda visiting with Emmylou Harris and her senior dog with special needs, Jeter. More ‘video visits’ will follow each month, and a radio and television PSA campaign will launch later in the year.
