On Today’s Show
May 10, 2021 9:35 am➢ A 24-year-old guy named Philip Vu quit his bank job a while back to live out of his car and travel. And along the way, he made friends with a homeless guy named Mike in New Haven, Connecticut. Philip thought he was so interesting, he started posting videos of their conversations online, and they went viral. Then people reached out to ask how they could help Mike . . . and ended up donating $17,000. Here’s how he reacted when Philip gave him the first $1,000 in an envelope.
➢ The Dumb Dads TikTok imagined a postgame press conference where a worn out dad is answering questions about what went wrong during a day with his kids. (Here’s the video.)
➢ It’s time to do something you maybe didn’t do last year . . . or ever. But yes, they claim it’s important . . . As we head into the middle of spring, now is a good time to reverse the direction of your CEILING FANS. The blades are tilted at an angle for a reason. They should spin clockwise in the winter to pull colder air up from the floor. That way it mixes with the warm air near the ceiling and keeps you warmer.
In spring and summer, they should spin counter-clockwise to push the air down, so it blows on you and keeps you cool.
If you’ve never changed them before, there’s usually a black switch on the side of the fixture. Just clean the blades first, because they’re probably covered in dust, which will get EVERYWHERE.
➢ Channing Tatum keeps himself in fantastic shape. But not by choice. On “The Kelly Clarkson Show” yesterday he said, quote, “As someone that has to work out for a job, I promise you: I would not look like this unless I had to be naked in most of my movies.” He added, quote, “At some point, I have to get better at acting so I don’t have to be naked in all of them. I literally get to work out as a job and it’s still hard.”
TODAY IS……………….
- “Golf Day”, it’s time to pull those clubs out of storage, dust them off, and get ready to hit the green again!
- “Women’s Check-Up Day”, an annual event during “Women’s Health Week” to raise awareness of manageable steps women can take to improve their health. It’s also a reminder that regular check-ups are important.

Monday Is Our Least Favorite Day of the Week, and It’s Not Even Close
Someone asked over 4,000 Americans to name their LEAST favorite day of the week. And yeah . . . it’s Monday in a landslide.
Around one in three people said they DON’T have a “least favorite” day. But here are the results for the people who did vote . . .
- Monday. 59% of people who have a least favorite day said it’s Monday.
- Tuesday, 13%.
- Sunday, 9%.
- Wednesday, 6%.
- Friday, 5%.
- Saturday, 5%.
- Thursday, only 3% of the vote.
The same survey also flipped the question around and asked people to name their FAVORITE day of the week. Saturday is #1, followed by Friday and Sunday. Just under 6% said Monday is their favorite day.

DID YOU KNOW?
A longevity expert says we should all get in the habit of sitting on the floor. Dan Buettner says that the people of Okinawa, Japan, keep furniture to a minimum in their homes, so they naturally do most of their sitting on the floor.
And, he says, the benefits are evident. Quote: “The longest-lived women in the history of the world lived in Okinawa, and…they sat on the floor. I spent two days with a 103-year-old woman and saw her get up and down from the floor 30 or 40 times, so that’s like 30 or 40 squats done daily.”
Researchers say your ability to stand up from a seated, cross-legged position without using any of your limbs (known as the sitting-rising test) is a good marker of longevity.

The Kentucky Derby Winner Cheated???
The finish of the Kentucky Derby is in question, after the winner MEDINA SPIRIT failed a drug test.
The horse tested positive for a steroid injected into the joints to reduce pain and swelling. If he fails a second test, he can be stripped of his title, and the runner up, Mandaloun, will be declared the winner.
Medina Spirit’s trainer, Bob Baffert, says something doesn’t add up.
Churchill Downs has suspended Baffert from entering other horses there. The Preakness Stakes goes down this Saturday in Baltimore. They haven’t decided if they’ll let Medina Spirit run.
Horse racing has a pretty serious doping problem . . . and Baffert has faced dozens of allegations over the years. But Medina Spirit is in jeopardy of becoming only the THIRD horse in the 147-year history of the Kentucky Derby to be stripped of a victory
Thomas Rhett and His Wife Are Having Daughter #4, Will He Ever Get a Son?
The odds that THOMAS RHETT and his wife Lauren will end up having six kids continues to rise. We know that SHE wants five or six little ones, and that he’d like to have at least one son.
Well, he announced over the weekend that they’re expecting their fourth daughter in the fall . . . so it looks like he’s got some work to do before bringing a little man into the family. Poor guy.
And even if they do end up having six girls, that’s okay because the guy loves being a dad. In a recent interview he was asked how often his three daughters play dress up.
Quote, “It never ends. We’re painting nails three times a day, mine get painted sometimes. I’ve just kind of embraced the life of a girl dad.”
(Thomas and Lauren’s daughters are: Five-year-old Willa Gray, three-year-old Ada James . . . and Lennon Love who is 14 months.)

OLD DOMINION ANNOUNCE 2021 ‘BAND BEHIND THE CURTAIN’ TOUR
The pandemic caused Old Dominion members to have some anxiety about the future of their career. The guys have had chart-topping hits and taken home several awards, but as Matthew Ramsey tells us, when lockdown kicked in, their barometers for success were abruptly taken away. [“There was no daily reminder that we were doing good, you know? Those shows where people were buying tickets and T-shirts and singing the songs, and that’s how we really gauged our success so it was like, ‘Man, are we even a band anymore?’ (laughs) It just felt so strange. I remember I was taking a walk and this car pulls a u-turn and pulls up to me and she’s like, ‘What are you doing? You’re just out here taking a walk?’ (laughs) And I just completely forgot that I was maybe a recognizable person. That just hadn’t happened in a really long time.”]
Matthew and his bandmates are back together and gearing up for the Band Behind The Curtain Tour which kicks off later this month.

Travis Denning on the Time He Threw Up on Maddie of Maddie & Tae
TRAVIS DENNING and MADDIE MARLOW of Maddie & Tae once shared a moment that they’ll never forget. Unfortunately, it’s not a good moment. It’s the time they were on a plane . . . and he threw up on her.
It came up on an episode of his new variety series, “Travis Denning and Friends Do Stuff”. Maddie and Tae were the guests and they ate spicy Nashville chicken while swapping stories. Here’s how the vomit event happened.
They did a show in Augusta, Georgia and went out for tequila shots afterwards. The next morning he was “feeling like absolute hell” but they had to catch a flight. He was ON the plane sitting next to Maddie when they knew he was going to lose it.
Quote, “I just remember that happening and I’m like, ‘I literally just threw up on Maddie.’ From then on, it was like, ‘we’re brothers for life, forever.'”
Maddie agreed. She added quote, “If you don’t puke on each other, you ain’t real friends.”
