The collision took place early in the game, when Tavares crashed into Montreal’s Ben Chariot and was hit in the head by Corey Perry’s knee as he went down. ➢ What would you do to save your dog’s life? Well, Florida’s Mike McCoy wrestled an alligator and poked its eye with his thumb to save his dog, Jake. Mike explains…
➢ A giant statue of Marilyn Monroe in her iconic dress-fluttering pose is making a comeback in the California desert, but some people aren’t very happy about it. The 26-foot-tall stainless-steel effigy — titled “Forever Marilyn” — has returned to the city of Palm Springs after a 7-year hiatus and has been placed in front of the entrance to the Palm Springs Art Museum, following a recent city council vote. But there’s concern about where Marilyn’s backside is facing — directly at the front doors of the museum. A local official says he is worried about the thousands of students who’ll have to bear witness to Marilyn’s derriere annually.

Five Cleaning Mistakes You Didn’t Know You’re Making
Have you ever cleaned something, and then your husband or wife came in and gave you that look like you could have done it better? Well, life is better without getting that look.
Here are five cleaning mistakes you might not even know you’re making . . .
- Dusting surfaces with a dry rag. It sends dust flying through the air, and a lot of it just resettles somewhere else. So sometimes it’s better to use a DAMP rag. Especially if you have allergies.
- Not cleaning your pillows. You should wash your pillowcases once a week. But what about the actual pillows? They collect a lot of bacteria and oil. So you should wash them every couple months. Just check the instructions on the tag.
- Cleaning stainless steel in a circular motion. It can leave marks. So instead, look for the grain in the steel, and scrub WITH the grain, not in a circle.
- Forgetting to clean your remotes and light switches. They’re two spots in our home we touch a LOT. And most people don’t clean them enough.
- Washing your windows on a sunny day. Glass cleaner dries too fast in direct sunlight, and leaves behind ugly streaks that can make your windows look even worse. So it’s better to wait for an overcast day, or clean them at night.

GOOD NEWS
“Alyssa”, an 11-year-old Florida girl fought off a would-be kidnapper while she was waiting for her school bus earlier this week.
The guy pulled up in his car, chased her down and grabbed her, but she fought him off to the point that he just gave up and took off.
Alyssa was playing with BLUE SLIME at the time, and during the struggle she rubbed it on his arm. And because of that, police were able to identify and arrest him later. Alyssa said she learned the trick from “Law & Order: SVU”.
Well yesterday, MARISKA HARGITAY posted a message to her, saying, quote, “I am so honored to be part of your incredible story. You are one BRAVE, Strong and Smart young woman.

CHILLED VEGGIES:
A salad a day may keep anxiety away. That’s the takeaway from a new study that found what may be the secret to a healthier and happier life.
Researchers from Edith Cowan University found that eating more fruits and vegetables can help reduce the stress in our lives. In the study of 8,600 Australians, people who eat least 470 grams of fruit and vegetables per day have stress levels 10% lower than those eating less than 230 grams daily.
The World Health Organizations recommends at least 400 grams of produce daily.
It’s still unclear how exactly fruits and vegetables benefits stress levels, but the scientists believe it must be linked to the consumption of key nutrients, which can reduce inflammation and oxidative stress and therefore improve mental wellbeing.
The researchers say: “Inflammation and oxidative stress in the body are recognized factors that can lead to increased stress, anxiety and lower mood.”

BLAKE SHELTON RELEASES ‘BODY LANGUAGE’ ALBUM TODAY
Blake Shelton releases his new album, Body Language, today (Friday May 21st). The pandemic certainly gave him more time to record the album, but he tells us, he’s been working on it for the past couple of years. [“You know, I can’t sit here and say that this album was created during the pandemic, because it dates back way further than that. We’ve actually been working on this album for probably over 2 years now, I think, and we’ve recorded parts of it in Nashville, Oklahoma, Los Angeles, some of it out on the road that I don’t even remember where we were, but we were definitely able to focus in and finish the album during this pandemic. I think we only actually recorded 3 songs during the pandemic, believe it or not. Just been waiting for the right time to release this music.”]
Body Language is Blake’s 12th studio album.
It includes the chart-topping hit “Happy Anywhere” featuring Gwen Stefani, as well as his current single “Minimum Wage.”

Darius Rucker Refused the Star Treatment When He Switched to Country
DARIUS RUCKER was a superstar with Hootie & the Blowfish when he transitioned to country in 2008. But instead of riding in like a big shot expecting special treatment, he did the opposite and paid his dues all over again.
He talked about it on CLINT BLACK’s upcoming series “Taking In Circles”. Quote, “[In] the very first meeting about the record I said ‘What do you do if you’re the low guy? What do you do if you’re the new guy?’
“They were like, ‘Well, you do a radio tour. But we didn’t think you would do that.’ And I said, ‘Light it up.'” Darius did a massive radio tour because he wanted to earn his way onto the airwaves like everybody else.
Quote, “[I] was like, ‘if you play my song, great. If not, hey man we had a beer, it was cool.’ We went around with that attitude, and people liked the song.”
That song was his first #1 country hit, “Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It”. Clint’s “Talking in Circles” episode with Darius debuts May 22nd on the Circle Network.
