A sealed 1996 “Super Mario 64” set a record Sunday for MOST EXPENSIVE game ever sold.  It was purchased for $1.56 MILLION during an auction. This record broke one that was JUST set last Friday from the same auction house.  It was another Nintendo game . . . an unopened 1986 “Legend of Zelda” for the NES . . . sold for $870,000.   FYI . . . don’t go rummaging through closets for YOUR old copies of these games.  The “Zelda” game is a very rare, original version and only a handful were made.  So yours most likely ISN’T one of them. In the case of “Mario”, less than FIVE copies are known to exist that are still sealed and in such excellent condition. In April, the auction house sold a copy of Nintendo’s Super Mario Bros. that was bought in 1986 and forgotten about in a desk drawer for $660,000.

A Texas Goodwill found a copy of the Atari video game “Air Raid” inside of a donation box, which is apparently worth $10,000.  Here is employee Alex Juarez talking about spotting the rare game which only has 13 known copies in the world.

I’m not sure what the exact definition of a “chip” is, but does this count?  The hot new cooking trend on TikTok is to put pasta noodles in your air fryer . . . BURN them . . . and then brag about how good you are at making “PASTA CHIPS”. You can do it with any type of noodle, but things like spaghetti don’t seem like they’d work that well.  Things like bow tie pasta and penne are better. First you boil the pasta like normal.  Then you mix in olive oil, salt, pepper, and parmesan . . . or whatever you want to flavor them with.  And after that, you pop them in your air fryer at 400 degrees for 10 minutes.  Then serve them with dip.

Alcohol kills germs, but still. Coors Light has used ice collected from the rink at Amalie Arena during the Stanley Cup Final, which Tampa Bay Lightning won, to brew “Champions Ice.” The limited-edition beer will be available on tap in Tampa-area bars and in 32-ounce collectable “crowlers” beginning next week—including the day of the Lightning’s Stanley Cup parade. Coors says to get the ice for the brewing process, they used shavings collected by the Lightning Ice Crew in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Montreal Canadiens. It put the shavings in stainless steel hydro-flasks and shipped them overnight to its brewery in Golden, Colorado. The team gave their blessing to Coors, the official beer of the team, to brew with the rink ice. Of course, blood and sweat can often be found on the ice during NHL games, but Coors says the water used to create the brew has been processed and cleansed.

TODAY IS……………….

  • “French Fries Day”. The ‘french’ in french fries has nothing to do with France, but the method of preparation. Food that’s chipped into pieces is said to be ‘frenched’. It’s thought that french fries most likely originated in Belgium.

GOOD NEWS

After Brayden Morton’s Shar-Pei Darla was taken from his yard, the story wound up ending in a remarkable way. The British Columbia, man first posted on social media in June that Darla was taken from his yard by someone in a pick-up truck and the post was shared around 30,000 times.

He offered some cash as a reward, and a friend offered to add another $2,500 for a total of $5,000. He received a call from a blocked number and all he could hear was what sounded like a young woman crying, but something told him this person had Darla. He met the young woman at a mall parking lot, where he found her crying.

He went up, grabbed his dog and asked her if she was okay. According to Morton, he could tell she was a fentanyl user and she later admitted she’d stolen the dog to get money for drugs. Instead of handing over the cash, Morton offered to pay for her treatment.

At the time of writing, the young woman hadn’t yet decided if she would take it, but was meeting up with Morton for coffee to discuss it further.

LAW & DISORDER

A woman stole a truck in Worcester, Massachusetts last Tuesday, and then led police on a wild chase . . . UNTIL she stopped to hit up the McDonald’s drive-thru.  She was arrested there, and is facing a long list of charges.  Her name is Johanna Gardell, and the victim is Raymond James Simoncini.

A Contraband Booze Ring Was Exposed By . . . Drunk Buffaloes

Three farmers in India had some sort of contraband booze operation going on, which is a no-no, because in their state, it’s illegal to make, buy, sell, or transport alcohol.  And if you’re caught, you can get hit with fines and even prison time.

It’s unclear what they were up to, but they had more than 100 bottles of hooch . . . and some were hidden in a trough that their BUFFALOES drank from.

Some of the bottles in the trough broke, and the buffaloes GOT THEIR BUZZ ON.

The farmers didn’t realize that . . . but they DID notice their buffaloes acting weird, including frothing at the mouth.  So, they called a vet, and the vet examined the water that they’d been drinking, and figured out that the buffaloes were drunk.

The vet was NOT chill about it.  He ratted them out the police . . . and they raided the farm on Monday.  All three farmers were arrested.  It’s unclear what charges or punishments they’re facing.

Builders Showed Up at the Wrong House

A woman named Chloe Fountainn is going viral on TikTok, after posting several videos of a construction crew working in her backyard.

She claims they showed up to the WRONG HOUSE, and she has NO IDEA what they’re building.  But she’s not going to tell them until they’re done, because she wants whatever it is they’re installing.  It looks like it’s some kind of deck or patio.

Initially, she talked about getting it “for free,” but when people pointed out how terrible it would be if she didn’t say anything and then refused to pay, she clarified that she WOULD pay for it, but she still isn’t going to stop them.

Naturally, some people are wondering if this is a publicity stunt.  It’s possible the crew showed up at the wrong house.  But she’s done updates over multiple DAYS, so it’s hard to believe that it could go this far without the crew knowing.

And her most recent update even mentions people found the company and called them to rat her out.  But she claims they’re still going to finish the job.

JORDAN DAVIS RELEASES EP TITLE TRACK FEATURING LUKE BRYAN

Jordan Davis is still climbing the charts with his current Top Five hit, “Amost Maybes,” but he has just released a new song called “Buy Dirt” which is a collaboration with his labelmate Luke Bryan. Jordan co-wrote the song during the pandemic, and as he tells us, it’s a reminder of the things in life that really matter. [“’Buy Dirt’ is a song that came to me a couple of months into the pandemic. We couldn’t tour, music, everything was at a standstill. I came to the realization of man, all you need is your faith, your family and your friends. And music’s great and I love it and I’m happy I get to do it, but at the end of the day those are three things that I need to always keep at the top of my list, and ‘Buy Dirt’ is my kind of pledge to that.”

“Buy Dirt” is the title track from Jordan’s new EP which was released in May.
