➢ Police in South Korea said they are investigating after a man bought a used kimchi fridge online and found $130,000 cash taped to the bottom. Police on Jeju Island said the man filed a police report Aug. 6 saying he was cleaning the recently-delivered fridge when he found the cash stash taped to the bottom of the appliance. Investigators said they are working to identify the online seller of the refrigerator and are talking to the people involved in its transportation and delivery. South Korea’s Lost and Found Act states the cash will become the property of the man who bought the fridge if the rightful owner can’t be tracked down. The money will become the property of the state if it is found to have been involved in a crime.

NASA Is Hiring People to Pretend to Live on Mars for a Year
After the last year-and-a-half inside, I feel like we all have relevant experience for this job: NASA is looking to hire four people willing to pretend to live on MARS for a full year.
They posted the job recently, and they’re accepting applications until September 17th. But they’re not just taking anyone.
The ideal candidate would be 30 to 55, and have a master’s degree in a STEM field, like engineering or math.
But they’ll also accept applications from people with a bachelor’s degree and some relevant experience.
The four people who get chosen will live in a 1,700-square-foot enclosed space with no windows for a year.
They’ll only eat astronaut food, and have limited contact with friends and family online. It’s not clear how much it pays, but you can head to NASA’s website if you want to apply.

Handcuffed Criminal Stole an ATV, Hit 70 MPH, and Crashed in a Mud Puddle
Cops in Oklahoma City were transporting a guy named Lucas Strider to jail for stealing catalytic converters off people’s cars. And he got away.
He managed to open a cop car door, and ran into the woods. Then he found a four-wheeler and stole it. Cops chased him as he blew through stop signs, and hit speeds of over 70 miles an hour. And he did all this while HANDCUFFED.
A local news station covered it live, and one anchor was amazed four-wheelers can even go that fast.
He eventually got to a spot where the paved road turned into a dirt road. And a cop was parked in the middle blocking him. So he tried to go around their car and crashed in a big mud puddle.
The ATV tipped, so he landed in the mud. Then he immediately just gave himself up.
Thieves Stole Rare Digimon Cards from a Store, and Then Immediately Tried to Sell Them to the Same Store
Multiple thieves broke into a gaming shop in Australia and stole a “large number” of rare Digimon trading cards and board games.
Then, one of the thieves went back to the same shop . . . LATER THAT DAY . . . and tried to sell them the same rare trading cards that they’d just stolen.
Not surprisingly, the store recognized the cards, and called the police. The cops then followed the person to the hideout, where they found stolen cards, as well as two other suspects.
Then, two hours later, a separate person went into the same store, and ALSO wanted to sell some of the stolen cards. They were also arrested. So far, the police have charged five people, and are looking for a sixth.

GETTING SCHOOLED ON SHOPPING:
Back-to-school shopping is never a fun thing. And this year, expect it to be worse. Retail experts are predicting there will be shortages of many back-to-school supplies this year.
Why? With more classrooms fully reopening in the fall, industry experts expect very high demand on school merchandise. That demand, along with tight inventory levels and delayed shipments will impact retailers’ ability to keep products on the shelves later in the school shopping season.
Products most likely to be in short supply include backpacks, stationery, sports equipment, laptops and tablets. And with supply being tight, consumers shouldn’t think they will see great bargains, either. Discounts will be less generous due to the fact that there is less stock and because of inflation.

JASON ALDEAN PRAISES MASKLESS CROWD
Jason Aldean was one happy entertainer when he looked out into the crowd at his recent concert in New York and saw no masks.
The show was on August 7th in Wantagh, NY and according to Country Now, Jason said,
“This is our first weekend back and who knows what’s going to happen next week, but you know the coolest thing about all this, the coolest thing to me right now is that I’m looking out, seeing all you guys, and I don’t see one “blanking mask.”
He added, “I’ve had just about enough of this”stuff.”
That particular venue, Jones Beach Theater, required no proof of vaccination nor masks to attend the show.
Concert promoter Live Nation has now implemented requirements that fans show proof of being vaccinated or a negative COVID-19 test for admission, effective October 4th.

Dan + Shay Signed Over 10,000 Copies of Their New Album
Last month, DAN + SHAY posted a clip of themselves singing about autographing 10,000 copies of their album “Good Things”. Did they accomplish that mission? Yes they did. Here’s what they said in a radio interview.
Quote, “We actually signed MORE than 10,000. We were signing them, and they were selling out on the website. Then we did a big show in Nashville, and we were selling them super-discounted there, just trying to get as many out as possible.
“It was boxes upon boxes being stacked in front of us. It was like, ‘Sign these, sign these.’ Honestly, there are worse things in the world we could be doing.”
They admitted that it got a little monotonous, especially when their hands started cramping up, but they didn’t quit. It paid off too.
As you may have heard, “Good Things” came out last Friday and went Gold that very same day.
