On Today’s Show
September 10, 2021 9:35 am➢ Roombas and pets don’t necessarily mix. TikTok user Gabrielldennis recently posted about how she came home to find her Roomba vacuum destroyed. She checked out the footage from her dog cameras to see what happened, and found the vacuum got stuck between a cushion and one of the dogs, and latched on to the dog’s tail, causing the dog to jump up in confusion and attempt to run away, dragging it along the wooden floor. The dog then sprints up the stairs, smashing the robot against each step until it detaches from its tail and crashes down to the bottom of the stairs. Gabi shared the hilarious video online, and assured people that her dog was completely unharmed in the incident.
➢ Robot vacuums like Roombas have been known to smear PET MESSES throughout your home.
But there’s exciting news on that front: Roomba has announced that their latest model recognizes and avoids things like cables and “pet waste” . . . so if your dog can’t hold it, you won’t have an even bigger mess on your hands.
They implemented algorithms using “hundreds of thousands of images of real, fake, and simulated dog and cat waste” . . . and they seem very confident it’ll work.
They’re calling it the “Pet Owner Official Promise [P.O.O.P.].” A new Roomba j7 Plus will cost you $849.
➢ A guy on TikTok posted a video of the same stuff you hear in the first five minutes of every Zoom meeting.
➢ Steve Burns, the O.G. host of “Blues Clues”, made a video for his grown-up fans. Here’s what he has to say. (He addressed his exit in 2002 and said, quote, “I guess I just wanted to say that after all these years I never forgot you . . . ever.”)

Should You Strip the Bed Before You Check Out of a Hotel?
Is this polite or totally unnecessary? Some guy in the U.K. is trending online because of something he does every time he stays at a hotel.
Before he checks out, he strips the SHEETS off his bed and stacks them up, just to make the maid’s job a little easier. He posted a photo on Facebook of how he does it, and the Internet latched on. Some people think it’s great and plan to start doing it. Other say it’s unnecessary because maids are PAID to do it. So why do it for them?
One person had a different take, and said it’s “not right OR wrong . . . just weird.” A few hotel maids also weighed in and said it’s nice when guests do it, but they’d never expect people to.
Here’s one thing you definitely DON’T need to do though. They said some people RE-MAKE their bed before they check out. But the maids have to strip the sheets off anyway, so there’s really no point.

LUKE BRYAN REFLECTS ON SEPTEMBER 11TH 20 YEARS LATER
Luke Bryan had moved to Nashville from Georgia just 10 days before the World Trade towers were hit by terrorists in 2001. He recalls being awakened by a phone call from his sister and that moment where, as he says, “the world changed.”
Luke tells us: [“I never will forget. I was in bed and my sister called and said, ‘Turn on the TV. A plane had flown into the World Trade Center,’ and I turned it on and like so many other people, I saw the second plane hit. And at that moment a lot of innocence is forever lost and that’s certainly when the world changed. And I remember almost getting in the car and going home and spending some time with my family, but I wound up kinda toughing it out in Nashville, but it was a challenging moment being away from your family when that happened.”]
Luke will be performing a show on this year’s 20th anniversary of 9/11. He’ll take the stage at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL on Saturday as part of his annual Farm Tour.
On Monday (September 13th), Luke will join a star-studded lineup at Loretta Lynn’s Friends: Hometown Rising benefit at the Grand Ole Opry House to help victims of the recent terrible flooding in Humphrey’s County, Tennessee. The show is sold out.
Luke wraps up his Farm Tour on September 18th in Fowlerville, MI.
ALAN JACKSON – 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF 9/11
ALAN JACKSON’s “Where Were You (When the World Stopped Turning)” is one of the most moving songs about 9/11. Saturday is the 20th anniversary of that tragic day, so he was asked why the song still resonates with fans.
He’s said he’s still surprised that it’s lasted all these years. He added, quote, “It [makes] me feel very proud something like that has helped people through that hard time in the beginning, and still has a lasting effect outside of where it all started.”

KEITH URBAN RECALLS ‘SURREAL’ 9/11 EXPERIENCE ON 20TH ANNIVERSARY – (09/10/2021)
Like most Americans, Keith Urban vividly recalls where he was when the terrorist attacks happened in New York City 20 years ago tomorrow (Saturday, September 11th). He had just played a show in Florida and decided to stay at the beach for a few days of vacation before heading home to Nashville.
Keith tells us: [“I remember that morning. I didn’t turn the news on and I was really grateful that I didn’t because I had a few extra hours before I was aware of this reality that was going on that would change everything. But the beach was deserted, and it was an eerie, ominous feeling in the air and I couldn’t put my finger on it. when we ended up going back to the house that we were renting we put the news on and that was the first time I saw what was happening and I couldn’t take it in. It was too surreal. It was a really, really traumatic time for a lot of people.”]
Keith will be part of Loretta Lynn’s Hometown Rising concert to benefit the victims of the recent flooding in Humphreys County, TN on Monday (September 13th) at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville. Keith’s brand new single is called “Wild Hearts.”
He kicks off his five-date residency at The Collosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas on September 17th & 18th.

Ashley Monroe’s Cancer Will Never Go Away, but It Is Manageable
It’s been almost two months since ASHLEY MONROE revealed her cancer diagnosis. In a new interview with “Rolling Stone“ she talked about how she’s feeling, her ongoing treatment, and the new album that she released earlier this week.
It’s a five-song EP called “Covers” and it’s versions of radio hits from different eras. (Here’s Ashley and Ruston Kelly covering the classic hit “Love Hurts“.)
As for her treatment. She’s been through two cycles of chemo, and says the most important thing is that she CANNOT get sick because her immune system is low. Quote, “I literally am just at home every day.”
Although the cancer is treatable, it’ll always be with her. Quote, “Apparently this kind [of cancer] will never go away, but the treatments I’m doing can at least keep it at bay. [But] yeah. They say it’s for life.”
Here’s Ashley Monroe and Ruston Kelly with their version of the all-time classic, “Love Hurts”. (From Ashley’s new EP “Covers”, which came out earlier this week.)
