On Today’s Show

➢  Have you seen the video from the University of Miami football game on Saturday?  A stray CAT somehow got into the stadium, and ended up dangling from the upper deck by its claws.  Then it FELL . . . but fans below used an American flag to CATCH it.

A guy named Craig Cromer works for the university and has season tickets.  He and his wife always bring a flag to the game to hang over the railing in front of their seats.

When the cat fell, the whole stadium gasped, but the flag broke its fall just enough.  Then a fan held it up like Simba in “The Lion King”, and everyone cheered.

Someone filled a pothole in Florida with a banana tree.  The county says it’s a private drive, so it’s up to the residents to fix it.  (Here are some of the neighbors talking about it.)

Here’s an unlikely victim of the pandemic:  FAX MACHINES might finally go away for good, and almost everyone agrees it’s overdue.  But hospitals still use them for test results and medical records, so it’s not as easy as it sounds.

A lot of medical info hasn’t been digitized, so doctors still rely on paper records.  And it’s caused huge bottlenecks during Covid.  So why do we still use them?

Well, faxes can’t be hacked, and you get a receipt when they’re delivered.  So that’s why hospitals and lawyers still use them.  And until now, the mentality was “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”  But the pandemic showed the system IS broken.  So now there’s a big push to finally move on from fax machines and find a better solution.

On “The Tonight Show”, Pete Davidson explained why he had to get three dogs during the pandemic.  (It was because whenever he would leave for an extended period, the dog would get attached to whoever was watching it, so he would leave it and go get another one.

A Judge Rejected a Couple’s Divorce Filing, and Told Them to “Work It Out”

A divorce is never easy, but it’s even more complicated when a judge REFUSES to let you go through it.

A couple in Kentucky separated last November after 12 years of marriage.  They filed for divorce saying that their marriage was “irretrievably broken.”

It’s unclear what went wrong . . . but they’d already ironed out the terms of the divorce, and even agreed on a co-parenting plan for their young daughter.

But when they went to court to get it approved, the judge DENIED it.  She said, “I get the vibe that you all might be able to work this out . . .

“Would it be beneficial to either of you all if I order you to go to reconciliation counseling or are you past that?”  The wife said they WERE past that . . . but the judge ordered it anyway.

The wife’s attorney said, “Being told to stay with your ex when you both agree it’s over is pretty stunning.”  The husband’s lawyer added, “This is something really nobody would’ve seen coming.”  Both attorneys are asking the judge to reconsider.

(The couple is Doug and Nicole Potts, the judge is Judge Monika Meredith, Nicole Potts’ attorney is Sidney Vieck, and Doug Potts’ attorney is Dorothy Walsh Ripka.)

Kacey Musgraves Is Not Interested in the “Hookup Culture”

There’s a person out there somewhere . . . we don’t know their name . . . who was dating KACEY MUSGRAVES last year, and then blew her off.  She talked about it in an interview with Apple Music.

Quote, “It was on Thanksgiving Day, and I had been let down by someone who was going to come visit me . . . and it was kind of my first few steps into exploring being a single 30-something-year-old person, after a marriage.”

This was almost five months after she and Ruston Kelly split up.  She was “kind of excited” about dating, but was surprised by how much things had changed.

Quote, “We live in this hookup culture, and I’m for it.  I’m for whatever makes you feel happy, as long as it’s safe, and doesn’t hurt other people.  But I’ve never experienced that, the dating app culture and all that.

“I mean, I’m not going to.  But what I’m saying is, it was just shocking.  It was a little shocking.  It was surprising.  And it made me just think that we all have flaws.”

As far as we know, Kacey is still dating Cole Schafer.
