Chico
November 25, 2024 12:01 amMeet Chico!
Chico came to our foster program with a cat after their owner passed away and the family were no longer able to care for them. Chico’s foster mom says he is a playful and charming little guy who loves his toys, sunshine and people watching. He is adventurous with a fun streak that came out during a trip to a local beach where he loved digging in the sand. This handsome little guy loves attention is learning to be more independent while his foster mom works from home.
He an be reactive to new people entering his foster home, his foster mom is working to help him learn to trust unfamiliar faces and will need an adopter to do the same. When bored, he can get into mischief with chewing or have the odd accident. He does not do well being left alone for long periods so an adopter who works from home or newly retired would be ideal for little Chico.
When it comes to other dogs, he can be picky with small dogs and is afraid of bigger dogs. If he sees cats outdoors on his walks, he tries to head home sooner than later while on his walk. He has not been around or lived with children so a home without young children is a must. An adult home would be best for Chico. Once he knows and trusts you, he is a sweet little boy.
Chico’s favourite activity is playing with his ball and chewing on his stuffed toys. He enjoys lounging in the sunshine and watching people from the window. He also gets enjoyment from digging in the garden. His foster mom took him to his first dog training class and he did very well, walking on a loose leash and learning to sit. He was a bit nervous but anxious to learn!
