Gus
June 16, 2025 12:01 amMeet Gus!
Hi there, I’m Gus – a pint-sized cattle dog with a heart bigger than my 25-pound frame! When I first arrived at the shelter, I was one scared little guy, unsure of this big, noisy world. But with some patient humans, an endless supply of love, and more chicken than you can imagine (seriously, I could open a restaurant), I’ve blossomed into a social butterfly. I’m still a little shy when meeting new people, but once I know you’re a friend, I’ll be your loyal shadow and dedicated snuggle buddy. After some testing, we discovered I’m deaf, but trust me – that doesn’t slow me down one bit!
I’m an energetic fellow who loves my walks and can turn any outing into a little adventure. Full disclosure – I’m working on my manners, especially the part where I think tug-o-war with my leash is the best game ever (hey, I’m a work in progress!). I get along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and I’m good with respectful, older kiddos (8 and up is best – I sometimes forget my manners and get a bit mouthy when excited).
When the excitement winds down, you’ll find me curled up right at your feet or cozied under the bed – my two favorite spots to recharge. I’m fully house-trained and ready to bring joy, love, and a dash of silliness to my forever home. If you’ve got a little patience, a warm heart, and maybe a fridge stocked with chicken, I just know we’ll be best friends.
Come meet me – I’ve got snuggles waiting! Visit pawr.org to learn more!
