Horne, Sister Mary Catharine entered eternal life on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at Chatham Kent Health Alliance. She was born in Chatham in 1934, the daughter of the late Grace (Renick) and Wilbert Horne.

She entered the Ursuline Sisters of Chatham in 1954. During her religious life she served as a teacher in Chatham, Mount Carmel, Windsor, Bradford and Wallaceburg. She also did pastoral work in Moosonee and on the Fort William Reserve. Sister Mary Catharine has been a member of the Chatham Quilters and volunteered at the Women’s Centre and St. Joseph’s Hospital and was involved with COR retreats and Cursillo.

She is survived by her brothers Walter and Nancy, Robert and Theresa, Wilbert and Mary Jean and James and Janet. Sister Mary Catharine was the cherished Aunt to many nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews. She is predeceased by her parents and brother Joseph.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the Ursuline Community at a prayer service to be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, 20 Merici Way, Chatham.

The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday, May 17, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Kiva at Villa Angela, Chatham.

Interment will be in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
