Kettle, Lois (Aged 92, Chatham)
October 31, 2018 4:05 pmA lifelong resident of Chatham, Lois Kettle passed away at the Copper Terrace Long Term Care Home with her family at her side on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the age of 92.
Born in Petrolia, Lois was the daughter of the late Alfred and Ethel (Jardine) Hyatt.
Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Roger Kettle (2007).
Loving mother of Kathy Sweet (Alan Enser) of Mission, BC, Rev. Jim Kettle (Maureen) of Chatham and Gwen Hawryluk (Paul) of Chatham.
Proud grandmother of Heather Sweet, Stephen Sweet; Anna Jaques (Brian), Julie Kettle, Gary Kettle; Peter Hawryluk and Tim Hawryluk (Selena Maes).
Great-Gramma of Gracie Montgomery, Caroline Jaques and Aurora Maes.
Dear sister to Tom Hyatt of Petrolia. Predeceased by her siblings Robert, Keith, John, Ellwood ‘Shorty’, Alfred, Bernice Spearman and Marion Routley. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Lois graduated as a Registered Nurse from PGH in the class of 1947. She was a member of the PGH Nurses Alumni, having served the community for over 38 years.
Lois was a member of St. Paul’s Congregational Church and enjoyed her fellowship with the Merry Mates Couples Club, which originated in 1953. Lois and Roger enjoyed square dancing, bowling and traveling around the world together.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00pm and on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 10:00am until the Celebration of Lois’ Life at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Maple Leaf Cemetery, Chatham.
