A resident of Ridgetown, Cornelia Sheehy passed away on her 61st wedding anniversary at the Village on the Ridge, Ridgetown with her family at her side on Friday, November 9, 2018 at the age of 95.

Born in Assen, The Netherlands, Cornelia was the daughter of the late Joseph and Wilhelmina (dePater) Annegarn.

Beloved wife of 61 years to James R. T. Sheehy.

Cherished mother of Timothy Sheehy (Deborah) of Omaha, Nebraska, Paul Sheehy of Kanata, Benedict Sheehy (Susan) of Canberra, Australia and Monica Bacic (Robert) of Chatham.

Proud Oma of Adam (Rachel), Brendan (Sarah), Cameron; Grace (Patrick), Anne; Maiya; late Andrew (2015), Joyce, Matthew and Justin.

Great-Oma to Evalyna, who was born on January 24th (Cornelia’s birthday).

Dear sister to Beatrix Nasch of South Africa. Predeceased by brothers and sisters in The Netherlands and South Africa. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

Cornelia immigrated to Canada on April 2, 1955. She lived in Toronto, before moving to Ridgetown in 1957. She was a member of St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, the Choir and the Catholic Women’s League. She was also a long standing member and a leader with the Girl Guides of Canada.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 76 Main Street East, Ridgetown on Monday, November 12, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. Vigil Prayers will be held on Monday at 3:00 pm.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, 26 George Street, Ridgetown at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 13, 2018. Interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Cornelia to a Charity of your choice and would be appreciated.
