November 2, 2018 9:09 amA lifelong resident of Chatham, John Veverka passed away at home on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at the age of 79.
Born in Chatham, John was the son of the late Bart and Anna (Holek) Veverka.
Beloved husband of 45 years to the late Margaret “Jayne” Veverka (nee Gray) (2007).
Loving father of Terry Miron (late Peter Smith, 2017) and Jody Veverka both of Chatham. Predeceased by his daughter Kimberly LePage (2012).
Proud Grandpa of Melanie Miron, Nick Miron (Sarah Suitor), Mark Miron; Mike Veverka, Courtney Van Dusen, Derek Veverka; Amy Waddick-Caza and Brandi Gould.
Papa (Great-Grandpa) of Izabella, Izaac, Ryleigh, Dylan, Avery and Khloe.
Dear brother to Ann Buxton of Blenheim, Mildred Konecny of Tupperville and the late Louis Veverka (Ann).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
John drove truck for many years, and retired from CTL in 2007. He was the patriarch of the family and ensured everyone was taken care of. He was very much involved in the lives of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. John was always very supportive and a voice of encouragement.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 5, 2018. Interment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery, Chatham.
