Gentes, Carolyn Ruth (nee Stirling) of Highgate, passed away peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance on Sunday March 10, 2019, age 71.

Born in Chatham, to parents the late Ruth (nee Manning) and the late Telfor Stirling.
Loving wife of Marcel Gentes for 51 years.

Beloved mother of Ann Gentes and husband Dave Gelderland of Red Lake, Ontario, and Michelle and husband Kelly Everaert of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Grandmother of Jessica, Kyle and Justin Gelderland, and Lucas Everaert.

Sister-in-law of Claude (Leah) Gentes and Orville Gentes, both of Red Lake, Ontario.
Will be also missed by her nephew Scott Stirling, niece Traci Turner, both of Chatham, Ontario, nephew Cory (Nicole) Gentes of Georgetown, Ontario and Shari Gentes (Exequiel Merlino) of Kenora, Ontario.

Great Aunt to Connor, Shane, Blake, Stephen, Sydney and Spencer.

Predeceased also by her brother Leonard Stirling and brother-in-law Denis Gentes.

Carolyn was an active volunteer in the Highgate area. She was a member of the Highgate Agricultural Society, Past President of the Highgate Fair Board, member of the United Church Women in Chatham and Highgate, and a member of Turin United Church.

Visitation will be held at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 76 Main St. East, Ridgetown, Ontario on Thursday March 14, 2019 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. The Funeral Service for Carolyn will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday March 15, at 11am with Rev. Wanda Burse Officiating. Burial to follow in the Gosnell Cemetery, Highgate, Ontario.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Carolyn may be made to the Turin United Church, Gosnell Cemetery, or the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation – Oncology Department.
