A resident of Chatham, John Watt passed away at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Chatham Campus with family at his side on Sunday, May 19, 2019 at the age of 94.

Born in Mallaig, Scotland John was the son of the late Francis and Bridgette (Livingston) Watt.

Beloved husband of 57 years to the late Alice (nee Burleigh) (2007).

Loving father of Sandy Wilkinson (late Wayne Mackintosh) of Chatham, Randy Watt (Lu) of Sarnia, Rick Watt (Luanne) of Sarnia and Cindy Court (Doug) of Atlanta.

Grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Sister-in-law to Mary Watt of Ingersoll. Predeceased by his siblings Francis Watt (late Eudora), Angus Watt and Margaret Smith. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.

John served as a gunner in the Canadian Military. He retired from Chrysler after over 50 years of service.

Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm and 7:00 – 9:00 pm. A Celebration of John’s Life will be held at The Salvation Army – Chatham Citadel, 46 Orangewood Blvd, Chatham at 2:00 pm on Sunday, June 2, 2019 with Captains Stephen and Karen Holland officiating.

Special thanks for the staff at St. Andrew’s Residence and the 4th floor nurses at CKHA for their care and compassion.
