A resident of Chatham, Gwen Hanuszak passed away at Maple City Residence on October 1, 2019 at the age of 98.

Born in Detroit Michigan, Gwen was the daughter of the late Jack and Lillian (Legue) Maine.

Beloved wife to the late Steve ‘Skip’ Hanuszak (1990).

Loving mother to Joanne (Bill) Davidson of Chatham and Jim (Leanne) Hanuszak of Chatham.

Grandmother to Kurt, Chere, Loralei, Jamie and Hailey and 10 great grandchildren.

Caring sister to Dorothy Kouyzer of Wallaceburg and Eleanor Hodulik of Chatham.

Predeceased by her brothers; Stan and Gerald Maine and her sisters; Maxine Dekoning, Ginny Graham and Barb Bowes.

Gwen was a very devoted mother and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an amazing cook and enjoyed her quiet times in the garden. She also loved being very fashionable person with matching accessories (purse and shoes) and was known for her pale pink nail polish and her “Revlon 677” lipstick.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Maple Leaf Cemetery on Monday October 7, 2019 at 11:15am with Michael McCracken officiating.

Donations made in memory of Gwen to the Cystic Fibrosis, Autisim Society of Chatham Kent or C-K Hospice Foundation would be appreciated.
