October 4, 2021 8:57 amDAVIS: Larry John – A resident of the Oak’s Retirement Village in Wallaceburg, and formerly of Mitchell’s Bay, Larry Davis passed away at Four Counties Health Services in Newbury on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at the age of 83.
Born in Raleigh Township, Larry was the son of the late Leonard and Gladys (Dale) Davis.
Larry married Shirley Anne “Sam” (nee Hawley) in 1959. Together, they had three daughters, Louise Mills (late Ron, 2021), Sue McFadden (Paul) and Pat Parrish (Scott).
Proud Grandpa and Great-Grandpa to Amy and Dave Mitchell (Benny and Ellie), Debbie and Jerry Roy (Luke and Evan), Kelly Mills and Al Vuotari; Dan and Ariane McFadden (Keslyn and Dylan), Nicki and Jeff Gagen (Bo and Maisie); Beth and Jeff Gagnier (Oscar and Poppy) and Heather and Jordan Dobratz (Isaak).
After Sam passed away in 1985, Larry began a new chapter, marrying Shirley Jean Phyllis (Youlton) (Brown) in 1987. Sadly, Shirley passed away September 13, 2019. Larry will be missed by Shirley’s two daughters, Sherry Perritt (Gary) and Sue Larsh (Stan).

Dearly missed by his prized feline princess, Daisy Mae.
Dear brother to Marilyn Smith (late Laural) and Nancy Seney (Jim).
Also missed by nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Larry retired from Union Gas after 36 years of service in 1996. He was Past President of the Merlin Kinsmen Club as well as President of the Merlin K-40 Club and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Br. 465 Merlin.
Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and playing cards with his family and friends. He could often be found having coffee at Parkside’s, where he was known as a jokester and a prankster. He was known for his welding skill around the Bay where he welded many projects.
A Graveside Service will be held at Pardoville-Union Cemetery, 7729 Talbot Trail, Blenheim on Friday, October 8, 2021 at 1:00pm with Rev. Jim Kettle officiating.
Special thanks to the staff at the Oak’s Retirement Residence for their care and compassion toward Larry, Shirley and Daisy Mae over the years and to the staff at Four Counties in Newbury for their special care of Larry and our family.
