April 14, 2023 8:44 amRABIDEAU, Mary Elizabeth (nee Elgie): A resident of Chatham, Mary Rabideau passed away at Riverview Gardens, Chatham on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at the age of 91.
Born in Chatham, she was the daughter of the late Ivan & Gladys (nee Kivell) Elgie. Reunited with her husband of 62 years, Guy Rabideau (2012). Dear mother of Randie Rabideau (Marisa Ferrera), Dwight Rabideau (Pat), and Kevin Rabideau. Grandmother of Rhonda Rilett (Jesse), Jordan Rabideau (Shannon), Justin Rabideau (Kassie), Brandon Rabideau (Natasha), Sabrina Rabideau, and Matthew Rabideau. Great-grandmother of Jay, Jace, Jaxson, Jett, Avigail, Vyktor, & Kolton. Predeceased by her siblings, Walter Elgie, Ivan Elgie, Bev Elgie, Shirley Carpenter, & Joyce Gore. Survived by sister-in-law Betty Baker & brother-in-law, Harland Rabideau. She will be dearly missed as the favourite aunt of many nieces & nephews.
Mary was the proud owner and operator of Dealtown Service Centre, Bayview Market in Rondeau Park, and Hegs Hub in Ridgetown for many years. She branched into the Real Estate market later on and retired from there. Mary was involved in the Parkinson’s Society and their events for many years. She was a faithful member of Praise Fellowship Church. Mary enjoyed spending time with her friends as their personal chauffeur, loved to read & play cards. She was a proud grandmother & great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with them. Known as the Road Runner, she loved to travel to her trailer in Florida for many years, and traveled to Columbia to visit Randie. She was most proud of her trip to Israel. Mary will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm & 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Cremation to follow.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE LIVESTREAM
A Private Family Interment will take place at a later date.
