A life long resident of Merlin, Margaret Gilbeault passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Tilbury Manor Nursing Home on February 9, 2024 at the age of 90. 

Born in Illinois, Margaret was the daughter of Cecil and Beatrix (née-Walley) Phelps.

Beloved wife of Stan Gilbeault. Margaret is predeceased by her two Brothers Maurice (Ada) Phelps and Robert (Jean) Phelps.

Dear mother of Carol (David) Allen, and Lauri (Terry) Gilbeault-Ryan.

Dear Grandmother of David (Agatha) Allen, Kristen (Jack) Allen, Kimberly (Corey) Allen-Knight, Alicia (Steve) Ellwood, Jesse Gilbeault-Ryan, and Erica (Mike) Vanderzee.

Great-Grandmother of William, Alexander, David, Elizabeth, Carter, Hudson, Adaleigh, Wayne and Elizabeth.

Margaret was inspired by the beauty of nature, her gardening and the love created by her family. She made many friends at the Amateur Radio Club and the Merlin Friendship Club.

Family will receive Friends at McKinlay Funeral Homes in Chatham for Visitation on Monday, February 12th, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 13th from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.   A funeral service will commence at 1 p.m. with Pastor Dressler officiating.

Donations made in memory of Margaret to the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent would be appreciated by the family.
