Looking For Ideas
February 26, 2019 1:50 pmMy daughter turns 16 tomorrow and I need to bake a cake tonight.
Every year she gets a home made cake, (made with love) and it’s different every year. Different colours, different candles, different size, different shape. I put a lot of pressure on myself, it’s true, but I love it.
One year we had no stove so I had to get creative. I made her a peanut butter cake in the slow cooker. Nope, not the same as the oven – but it worked.
I have put cupcakes on top of a cake.
This year I found an idea for a drip cake. Which seems fun. But how do-able is it? In reality? Some glitter, some colour. “Piece of cake” as they say? Doubtful.
You know how you see all those posts about “Pinterest Fail”? This could be what happens. Because there is just NO WAY my cake is going to look like that one in the picture. And I have to figure out what kind of fun decoration to put on top.
So wish me luck. It’s one of my favourite things to do for my kids for their birthdays. No two cakes have ever been the same. I love doing it. Staying up way too late to finish so the cake is there and ready for them when they wake up in the morning.
Any ideas or suggestions welcome.
