New Music – Lady Gaga
May 3, 2022 11:36 amLady Gaga just released her brand new song “Hold My Hand” the opening song for “Top Gun: Maverick” – the sequel to Tom Cruise’s 1986 classic, that has been delayed multiple times, most recently because of the pandemic.
Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer are back on the big screen when “Top Gun: Maverick” hits theatres May 27th.
Lady Gaga says “When I wrote this song for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, I didn’t even realize the multiple layers it spanned across the film’s heart, my own psyche, and the nature of the world we’ve been living in. I’ve been working on it for years, perfecting it, trying to make it ours….. I wanted to make music into a song where we share our deep need to both be understood and try to understand each other— a longing to be close when we feel so far away and an ability to celebrate life’s heroes… This song is a love letter to the world during and after a very hard time. I’ve wanted you to hear it for so long.”
What do YOU think of this song? Will it stand up to the original Top Gun soundtrack that gave us Berlin’s “Take My Breath Away”, the song that won the best-original-song trophy in 1987? Do we even NEED another Top Gun movie? All these years later?
Listen for the song this afternoon on the Fox and text us to let us know what YOU think. 519-464-1999
