Reflecting On 2022
December 28, 2022 12:30 pmI hope you had a wonderful Christmas however that looks to you. Now we look ahead to a brand spanking new year full of hope and new opportunities, adventures, challenges and goals.
I admit I love this time of year. I’ve already got started on cleaning and organizing for the new year ahead. It gives me hope that I least I can start the new year strong.
I managed to let go of a lot of “stuff” just taking up space. It feels good to let go of the clutter. It helps to focus on what’s ahead in the new year.
I love starting fresh, starting over, starting strong. Whether it lasts past January is always a fun guessing game, but at least I will try.
I look back at 2022 with a smile. No regrets. It was a good year with lots of great memories made. What do you think of when you look back on 2022? Any special moments that stand out? Anything you’d like to change?
I came across a website today that I really like. Skip To My Lou has a fun page where your kids can share all the things that they remember about the year. Favourite song, favourite food, best memory, favourite saying and more. I think us big kids could play along as well.
There’s also a really great reflections game you can play. Specific questions that help you to look back on 2022. Like what was your favourite social event this year. Your biggest achievement? Proudest moment. Who made the biggest impact on your life? The best movie you saw this year. And thinking about the new year – one thing you want to learn? Something you want to change? A place you want to visit.
So many good questions to reflect on the past year and look forward to in the new year.
I know that in the new year, I want to learn to play guitar and I want to start writing more. I want to get healthier, and drop a few pounds (I say that every year, but this year I want to be focused, and stay consistent with no more excuses) Please help me stay on track this time.
Best movie I saw this year was the Elvis movie. So good. My favourite social event was seeing Duran Duran in Toronto in the pouring rain and storm warnings with my brother. Best advice is to be kind – especially to yourself.
Lots of reflection on the past year and so much excitement for the year ahead.
