The View From Here – What Is Your WORD For 2023?

December 29, 2022 2:06 pm Published by

I have to say finding just one word to set myself up for a brand new year seems a little strange. I’ve never had a word of the year before. These last few weeks I’ve seen a lot of mentions online about finding your word.

Something that will start your year and get you through it with purpose, meaning and intention.

I found a challenge online to help you find your word.  It’s One Word Challenge.  I signed up and so far it’s pretty cool. Every day you get an email that gives you a lesson for the day in helping you find your word.

“Instead of creating endless goals and resolutions, choose One Word to be your driving force for the year. No goals. No wish lists. Just one word.”

So far we’ve reflected on the past year, and looked to the year ahead.

We’ve asked ourselves questions to help discover our word, like – What do you want to focus on this year?  What’s in the way?  What do you need more of?  Less of? What is one word that will drive me this year to be my best?

Good questions, right!?  To be honest, it’s felt uncomfortable and strange, and like I have no idea what to do or how to do it “right”.

There’s a reminder to keep our word for 2023 front and center so it’s seen everyday and reminds us what we want for the year.

So I’m sitting here, thinking about what my word for 2023 will be.   I have a few.   Intentional.   Committed.  Driven.  Focused.

But I’m not sure. I’ve never done this before and have no idea what will come of it.

Do you have a word for 2023?  Is this something you have ever done before?  If so I’d love to know more.

The One Word Challenge.   Feel free to email me and let me know what your word is and we’ll stay in touch through the year to see how it works for us.
