New Music Monday – Stephen Sanchez “Until I Found You”
February 6, 2023 9:00 amI really like this song. It’s got that 50’s/ 60’s sound. Coming off the huge success of the Elvis movie, it kinda takes you back to that era. And what’s incredible, is this sound is coming from a 20 year old.
Stephen Sanchez is all of 20 years old. This was his first big song, and people are just now starting to love it. So much that he says he doesn’t think of the song as his anymore. Stephen says “… it’s a powerful thing … I wrote this song about a girl that I loved. That’s all I needed it to be. And now it’s not even mine anymore. It’s, like, everybody else’s song.”
Stephen explains “When I met my girlfriend Georgia, I was in the worst place ever. She was so loving and great to me though. I didn’t feel good enough for that, so I pushed her away. We spent some time apart. She was in Virginia. I was in California. A month before I moved to Nashville, we reconnected over the phone, I drove up, took her on a date, and we’ve been together ever since. I wrote Until I found You to let her know how much I love her, and to let her know I knew how much of an idiot I was when I let her go the first time.”
Stephen kicks off a sold-out tour February 7 in New Orleans. He will be in Toronto February 21st at the Opera House.
