The View From Here – Catching Up

OH hey there.  It’s been a minute since I stepped in to chat with you and see how you were doing.

Winter is dragging on.  I guess the little rodent saw his shadow and ruined our hopes and dreams, declaring six more weeks of winter.  Bah humbug.  Wrong holiday, but if the slogan fits, use it I guess.

This is the point in the season we need the promise of better days.  Full of sunshine, and colour.  Winter is hard on a lot of us.   SAD (seasonal affective disorder).  The winter blues.  They are both very real.

I can’t wait for sunshine, and flowers and being able to sit outside with my morning coffee again.  Putting the winter jacket away and feeling so much lighter and unrestricted.  And all the comfort food I keep eating is only adding to my waistline.  Can we all just take a moment right now and be thankful for elastic waistbands?  Because today was a day of pure comfort, not style.   Here’s hoping nobody sees me. (smile)  Oh well.  Who cares.  It comes with age.  The older you get, the less you care about how you look and what other people think.  Except yourself.  Because for some reason, we still can be hard on ourselves, and I know for myself, sometimes I’m downright cruel with the things I say to myself.  Trying hard to work on that but it isn’t easy.

Getting older and dealing with body changes is hard.  And it’s different for everybody.   I’ve shared before how I’ve been struggling with getting older.  It’s odd how I never worried about age before, but after 50 that’s when I started feeling the changes.  It’s hard to look in the mirror and not recognize yourself, and still feel so young on the inside.

Interesting thing I’m doing on Monday – I’m going to see someone about hormone balance.  And I’m really interested to learn more about how our hormones change as we age and what we can do to help control all the changes that come with perimenopause and menopause.  We need to talk more openly about it so we aren’t left trying to understand it on our own.  It can be a bit overwhelming.  And frustrating.  All the emotions all the time. (smile)

I have a few days off next week and one of the days I will be travelling to Forest to meet with an artist that does unique work.  Intuitive Paint Readings.

Intuitive Paint Reading Includes:
a painting inspired by them, painted by me
a 45 minute Zoom session where I share their reading
the painting mailed directly to their doorstep
a follow-up email with highlights from their reading

I’m VERY excited about this chance.  It was a Christmas gift and I can’t wait to see what comes out.

I guess there’s a big football game this weekend.  I’ll watch bits and pieces, and try again to understand the game.  But I never do.  But I will eat terribly for the fun of it.  Nachos.  Dip.  Something greasy and fried.

Enjoy your weekend – whatever it is you do.

38 days til spring.  Now THAT is something I can get really excited about.

As always, feel free to reach out – shoot me an email anytime – I LOVE to hear from you!
