On The Show Today

I love this idea.  People are surprising their grandparents with sleepovers and it’s adorable.

When do you take down your Christmas tree?  Ours came down on January 1st.  Sad to see it go.  It’s a real tree, so we know there’s not a lot of life left in it. (smile) Lesson learned, the trees with the longer needles are less messy!  There was hardly any cleanup needed.  We will be going for the long needles again!  From the Today show – experts weigh in on when you should take it down.

There’s a reason people have trouble keeping those new years resolutions.  Especially when we have THIS kind of stuff coming at us.  It does look good.  Oreo and Betty Crocker have teamed up.

Do you remember the story of the Burger King employee who was recognized for not missing a single day of work in 27 years?  It got attention because of what he was given.  In a now viral video, it showed Kevin being given a few pens, a coffee cup and a few other small items.  His daughter started a GoFundMe and from that Kevin has become a first time home owner and even has some money left to help his daughter and granddaughter.  Amazing story of people helping other people just because they can.

IT IS HAPPENING IN WORKPLACES ALL OVER THE PLACE – AND IT HAPPENS RIGHT AROUND 3PM ACCORDING TO A SURVEY. What is it? The afternoon slump. That time of day when you kind of hit a wall, and have no more energy, no motivation to do anything else. Can you relate to that? According to this study, 49% of people say they’re more likely to experience a slump on a certain day of the week, and motivation usually returns after about a half an hour. Blame it on a lack of caffeine, boredom, lack of energy, lack of food and lack of sleep. What is one to do when you hit that slump – some of the more popular snacks to cure the afternoon slump include nuts, trail mix, pretzels and chips. 64% of people say eating healthy foods can help keep them motivated.
