Carrie got the chance to talk with members of  Indian City about their music and the significance of this day to them in more ways than one.  Listen to the interview HERE.

Locally,  Aamjiwnaang First Nation will be celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day (also known as Solidarity Day) today.  A day held every year to celebrate the unique heritage, diverse cultures and outstanding achievements of the nation’s Aboriginal peoples.

A community BBQ starts at 4:30 p.m. with more games, including a baseball scrimmage open to anyone 16 years or older.

At 7:30 p.m. things will shift over to the baseball diamond behind [The Maawn Doosh Gumig] Community Centre for more fun including karaoke, open mic and more.  Fireworks are set for 10pm, (weather permitting)
