New Music Monday – Introducing Karan Aujla With OneRepublic

It’s New Music Monday and we can’t wait to hear what you think about this new song!

A collaboration between OneRepublic and Canadian artist Karan Aujla.

Karan is from British Columbia.  After his parents died when he was 9, he was raised by his sisters and his uncle.  He went to high school in Burnaby, BC and worked as a longshoreman in Surrey, BC.

He is the first Punjabi artist to ever win the Fan Choice Award at the 2024 Juno Awards.  His 2023 album “Making Memories” hit #1 on Apple Music Canada and has been streamed TWO BILLION times in under two years.  He was the #1 most streamed Punjabi artist on Spotify Globally in 2024.

Ryan Tedder (OneRepublic) believes this is the next big thing in music and wanted to be the first international star to release a collaboration.

Karan Aujla says “Working with OneRepublic has been a dream of mine for years, so this collaboration is a big deal. It’s exciting to finally share this news, and I know fans are going to love the song. And returning to Warner to release this music feels like coming home. We made my last album the biggest of my career, and I’m ready to make my return even bigger with more surprises in store.”

Ryan Tedder, frontman of OneRepublic says: “Ever since our first show in India with OneRepublic, I have been obsessed with not only the culture and the people and the food, but the music itself and I have been looking for the right opportunity to collaborate with local artists and dive into the Hindi and Punjabi musical landscape. I could not be more excited about this song and our work with Karan and I hope this leads to many more trips to India.”
