Happy Birthday Sarnia!

First incorporated as a city on May 7, 1914, the City of Sarnia turns 111 today!

Surveyed as Port Sarnia in the 1830s and incorporated as the Town of Sarnia in 1857, there’s a lot of history in this corner of the province.

From those early days, with the dredging of the St. Clair River in the 1850s, we’ve grown and evolved to become an important shipping centre, petrochemical hub and so much more.

Our community continues to evolve, and at 111 we’re just getting started!
