World Suicide Prevention Day

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. You might be seeing yellow signs and yellow ribbons across our area.  In businesses and on front lawns. They are there to symbolize hope and connection.  This can be a tough day as we remember those lives lost to suicide.  Today we stand with you.

I look at those signs and ribbons and my heart goes out to those lives lost.  To those who are hurting.  To those who have lost someone they loved.

It’s devastating and makes no sense.  There’s only heartache and questions.

Today is a day to stand with those who are hurting.  From those who have lost someone they loved.  To those who are struggling.

You are not alone.  I don’t know who we get better, but we need to keep conversations going and we need to keep reaching out.

If you or someone you know is struggling, help is available:

Anywhere in Canada – you can call or text the Suicide Crisis Helpline 9-8-8 for help.

📞 Kids Help Phone: 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868

To show your support, you are invited to join Sarnia Lambton Suicide Prevention at the Point Brewing Company today from 4pm til 8pm.   Together with Talk for Tamara, Project Mental Wellness and the Mike Harvey Foundation.  With live music.  Food from the Cheese Wedge.  You can even get a tattoo.

You matter.
