So Much Excitement For New Taylor Swift Album
October 3, 2025 11:00 amI’m not even a bit embarrassed to say that I am caught up in the excitement over the new Taylor Swift album. Yesterday I spent way too much time on social media, watching endless video streams of “Swifties” dissecting every little detail leading up to the album release. Swifties are pretty amazing and I’m not really sure how they figure out what they do. I’m not sure how they look for clues and then figure out so much information from a statue or a book title or an image, but they do.
It’s been a really long time since I got excited about an album release to the point where I actually listened to it, track by track, trying to understand the meaning behind the lyrics. It’s been a really long time since I was this invested in a brand new release. Here I am. A Swiftie after all.
What do YOU think of the new album? I’m nowhere near the level of most Swifties who have taken a deep dive into the lyrics, trying to understand it all. But there are for sure a few songs that I love. Fate of Ophelia for sure is a love story about Travis. It has to be, right? I love Elizabeth Taylor. Actually Romantic. Trying to figure out who that one is about, but it’s not a love song. Maybe a love song for haters? I love Opalite. Cancelled is good too. Camaraderie in going through something together I guess.
Until I have the album in my hands – and yes, it has to be vinyl, with lyrics, to hold in my hand as I listen. That will always be my favourite way to listen to music no matter what. Streaming just doesn’t have that kind of power. There will never be anything like holding a new album in your hands and looking through the liner notes, and reading the lyrics and looking at every picture that has been shared. It’s magic.
Today I have been listening to The Life of a Showgirl on repeat. Disecting the lyrics. Trying to understand what or who it’s about. And to me, I love to see the words as I hear the music. For anyone else that likes to do that too — click HERE.
So today will be about Taylor. And a new album that brings a new era of her music. Taylor in love. Taylor writing and recording in the middle of the craziest, busiest tour she has ever done. Taylor that has come through so much and has so much more to say. I’m here for it.
Tell me what you think of the album. Favourites? Any ideas what some of the songs are about? Lots of speculation for sure. There isn’t enough time in the day to read through every mention of it online. As for those easter eggs? Click HERE to find out more.
I’m super excited to go see The Official Release Party of a Showgirl” playing at Sarnia Cineplex today through Sunday. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything sequined, or feathery. I’ve been seeing many posts of Swifties planning big events out of the movie, and wearing the right “fit” is all part of the fun. I would appreciate a friendship bracelet though. (smile)
Maybe I’ll see you there tonight and we can chat about the new music.
