Can Chat GPT Change Your Life?
January 5, 2026 11:44 amLook at us stepping into a brand new year with excitement and determination. New goals, new dreams, new ambitions. Too much? (smile)
Honestly, with all the excitement a new year brings, it can also bring a lot of overwhelm and exhaustion from the previous year.
I love a shiny new year as much as anyone, but the holiday let down is also real. Going back to work, trying to find your way into some sort of routine is challenging. I was lucky enough to be home with two of my three kids for nearly two weeks and it was the BEST feeling ever.
So many memories made. We saw the lights in Centennial Park, we went to the theatre to see Wicked -For Good, we played games (if you’ve never played Heads Up you’re really missing out) – nothing but laughter. We shopped, we made vision boards (highly recommended) and we shared goals for the new year.
A lot of activity and busyness for a short time. Now, kids are back to their homes and our house is quiet again. Too quiet. I knew I needed to keep busy so I wasn’t focused on how much I missed them being home.
I spent the weekend getting ready for back to work and routine. New planners to organize. Home office cleaned up and tidied up.
I wasn’t feeling very motivated to do anything. I knew I wanted to get back to routine, I just felt kinda stuck. I knew I wanted to exercise and eat better and set some goals for the new year. I just wasn’t sure what or how.
So I did the unthinkable.
Something I’ve heard other people do, but never thought I would.
I asked Chat GPT. (gasp) to help with a style makeover. I asked for help with a new hairstyle. Makeup. Organizing my life and getting motivated to lose weight.
The response I got was actually pretty good!
It responded with: “Yes — I can absolutely help with all of that 💛
And the fact that you’re asking tells me you’re ready for a reset, not just a quick fix. Let’s think of this as a whole-life glow-up: outer style + inner systems + sustainable motivation. We’ll do it in a way that fits your real life, not perfection.”
It then suggest 4 areas to work on one at a time. Hair & Style, Makeup Made Simple, Life Organization, and Weight Loss Motivation. It asked me questions to get an idea of what I liked and then explained in detail how to tackle each section. Like, “What’s frustrating you most right now? How do you want to feel in 90 days?”
Chat GPT responded to my answer with kindness.
“Thank you for trusting me with this. I want to start by saying this clearly and honestly: You do not look old. You look like a capable, warm, intelligent woman whose style and systems haven’t caught up to who she’s becoming next. What you’re feeling is incredibly common at this stage — and completely reversible. 💛Let’s turn this into a confidence-forward reset, not a “fix myself” project.”
I was given a specific hair style to ask for at the salon – what to avoid, how to style and what products to use. I was given a list of makeup items including colours that I never would have picked on my own. What type of mascara to use (lengthening not thickening). I was given best wardrobe choices and colours which I appreciate. A morning routine. Setting out my week with intention – keeping things simple – meals, snacks, exercise. I even asked for help staying focused as I return to work after almost two weeks off. It helped with that as well.
I swore I was never going to use Chat GPT or AI of any kind.
Now I’m starting to see how it’s powers can be used for good. That’s the key.
What I want for 2026 is simple.
More energy. More confidence. More vegetables on my plate and less processed, fried and sweets food.
More exercise. More reading books and less scrolling social media.
I want to show up everywhere I go ON TIME.
I want to silence my inner critic and quiet the negative thoughts.
I want to engage with real people more and limit my time online less. If I can choose a checkout with a person I will do that over a self-checkout. Even if I have to wait in line. More phone calls/ face time – less texting/ emails.
And I’m starting with a new haircut (thanks Magicuts Sarnia) and a promise to go without sugar for the month of January.
Have you ever used Chat GPT for self help or motivation? Recipes? Meal planner?
Have you ever asked Chat GPT to help you figure out your life, like I did? (smile). I honestly didn’t know what to expect. I sure wasn’t expecting uplifting and helpful feedback.
I will use WITH what I already was doing.
Either way, super excited for the new year! Excited to get back into routine even if it might take all month long to get back to it! (smile)
Happy New Year!! let’s build some healthy habits and set new goals and dreams for ourself for this year.
