Getting Ready To Celebrate The Year Of The Horse

We are getting ready to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Lunar New Year officially begins on February 17th, 2026. There’s something to be said about knowing your “sign” and what it means to be in the year of the snake, and to start the year of the horse.

I love this podcast discussion about the year we leave behind and the new year ahead. I don’t know about you, but I can relate to a lot of what they talk about.

This year, 2025 – Year of the Snake is what we’re coming out of.  In Snake years, everything that’s false, expired or outgrown must fall away.  The snake strips you down to your most honest self.  Not to punish you but to prepare you. Shedding is the medicine.  We’re in the 9 year.  Bringing completion, closure.  Old identities disolve.

Does any of this relate to you at all?  Do you feel like 2025 was hard?  Are you ready to leave it behind?  Run into the new Lunar year with that new energy.

Questions to think about –

  1. What am I holding onto that I know is ready to leave my life?
  2. What relationships feel complete or misaligned with who I am becoming?
  3. What physical items carry emotional weight I no longer wish to hold?
  4. What identity or roles have I outgrown but still cling to?
  5. What emotions am I avoiding that are asking to be released?
  6. Where in my house does energy feel stuck, heavy or stagnant?
  7. What habits, patterns or stories weigh me down the most?
  8. What am I afraid will happen if I truly let go?
