Quarantunes: Tori’s Top 20 Coronavirus Songs To Get You Through
March 31, 2020 9:04 amWe first heard about this when Rita Wilson was looking for songs to listen to while quarantinin’ with her hubby Tom Hanks after they both tested positive for COVID-19.
Now I don’t know about you, but music gets me through 99% of my problems. I’ve been thinking lots about some of my favorite songs that are relevant during a time like this.
I’ve got happy. I’ve got sad. I’ve got songs to make you dance enough to sweat out a fever, and songs that maybe make you glad you’re alone to cry in peace.
Check out my top 20:
- Alone Together – Fall Out Boy
I’ve seen the hashtag #AloneTogether and immediately my mind went to this song. We all know you have time to spare, so maybe check out the 11-part music video series from their album Centuries.
2. Stayin’ Alive – Bee Gees
Who would have thought that the hit song from 1977 would be so relevant today? Their song Night Fever came out around the same time…maybe they were on to something?!
3. Unwell – Matchbox Twenty
We’re not all crazy, the world’s just a little unwell.
4. Can’t Feel My Face – The Weeknd
We know that loss of taste and smell may be a symptom of this virus, however you SHOULD be able to feel your face, Mr. Weeknd.
5. Fever – The Black Keys
That one just speaks for itself. The music video however, does not.
6. Don’t Stand So Close To Me – The Police
This is just proof that The Police have been practicing #SocialDistancing before it was cool.
7. Toxic – Britney Spears
The video may be NSFW, but it’s a total jam. Stay healthy Britney!
8. I Will Survive – Gloria Gaynor
Take some motivation from Queen Gloria herself.
9. School’s Out – Alice Cooper
School’s out…for now. Sorry parents, we’re thinking of you in this time.
10. All By Myself – Celine Dion
Shout out to our Canadian pop princess for this hit. We’re really feeling it lately.
11. Can’t Touch This – MC Hammer
Take MC Hammer’s lyrics as a direct instruction! And if you’re feeling particularly nostalgic, watch this VERY 90’s music video.
12. Treat People With Kindness – Harry Styles
You can’t help but love Harry for this one. Also take this as a direct instruction. We’re all in this together people.
13. Burnin’ Up – Jonas Brothers
I mean…come on. Who doesn’t love some OG Jo Bros?! It’s earned it’s spot on my list.
14. Work from Home – Fifth Harmony & Ty Dolla Sign
If your workplace is keeping you busy even out of the office, this ones for you! Also a total confidence boost.
15. Hands to Myself – Selena Gomez
I’m hoping she’s learned to keep her hands to herself by now.
16. Kiss Me Thru the Phone – Soulja Boy & Sammie
Quarantined away from your significant other? Use this song and this tactic as a way to connect with them today.
17. How to Save a Life – The Fray
Is it not clear from this song? You save a life by STAYING HOME.
18. Love Lockdown – Kanye West
Keep your love AND your body locked down, until further notice.
19. My House – Flo Rida
Flo Rida has been admiring his house since 2015. I guess it was about time we did the same.
20. Breathe Deeper – Tame Impala
Something soft to end off the list. And we got a new track from Tame Impala this year! FINALLY!
Times aren’t easy right now, just know we’re thinking of you all. Whether you’re stuck at home or on our front lines, you deserve a music break.
Stay safe & well Windsor-Essex!
