The 72nd Emmy Nominations Are In!
July 29, 2020 7:40 amYesterday morning, the Emmy nominations were announced during a Live stream on ABC’s site.
There were some notable moments, surprises and snubs.
Netflix totaled 160 nominations, passing HBO and breaking record for most nominations.
The Watchmen earned the most nominations for a single show, with 26 nominations.

Brad Pitt earned his second-ever Emmy nomination for parodying Dr. Anthony Fauci on Saturday Night Live in the category outstanding guest actor in a comedy series, which he earned back in 2002 for playing his small roll as Will in Friends.

Jennifer Aniston also earned her first Emmy in 11 years, recognizing her for her role as TV anchor Alex Levy in Apple+’s show The Morning Show.
This is prompting people to say Reese Witherspoon was snubbed, as she was also a lead in this show and has notably transitioned from film to TV seamlessly with her other shows Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere.
Disney+’s Mandalorian also swept up 15 nominations. It made a big showing in the crafts categories and also earned an outstanding drama series nom.
Schitt’s Creek also earned 15 nominations. Dan Levy had a very sweet response on Twitter:
