Grey’s Anatomy Season 17 Premiered With A DOOZY!
November 13, 2020 7:30 amI didn’t think there would be anything that would suck me back into Grey’s Anatomy after the death of Derek Shepherd, but IT HAPPENED.
Although I’m not totally up to date, we’ve got to talk about last night’s premier episode of Season 17.
Let me quickly stress, THIS CONTAINS SPOILERS!
We’ve known for awhile that this season would center around COVID. Showrunners said, “The most important task we had this season was to honor the reality of this global pandemic and the impact it’s having —particularly on healthcare workers.”
Although we knew the pandemic would add an extra personal feel to the season, they did not stop plucking at our heart strings there.
Viewers are taken on a sad journey, as Meredith Grey‘s health declines and will seemingly be diagnosed with COVID. But before that, they hit us where it hurts most:
In a dream, Meredith is reunited with …you guessed it… DEREK!
Patrick Dempsey‘s role as late-husband and life saver Dr. Derek Shepherd has been REPRISED!
Fans were both ecstatic and heartbroken upon seeing his return:

Let me dwell in some conspiracy theories quickly: fans believe that Derek is only the first of the many killed off characters to be returning.
The internet has noticed that on Grey’s’ IMDb page, some of the killed off characters from years ago have an “end date” as 2020. See for yourself HERE.

Before I dive headfirst back into the heartbreak, I need some kind of confirmation on this theory. Send us a message on Facebook with your thoughts and ideas on this season!
