We are three days away from the big game but only one day away from your chance to win tickets at Thursday night’s Spits game!  Congrats to Alison from Windsor for winning a 4 pack from us this morning.  Did you catch our first ever edition of MAD-SPITZ?  Here’s how it goes:   we asked for a WINDSOR LANDMARK, an ARTICLE OF CLOTHING, and a VEGETABLE.  Play along with your friends.  Alison’s winning answer?

My friends are excited to go to the Spits game on Thursday, so I suggested we meet at (THE GORDIE HOW BRIDGE).  They said sure, so I put on my lucky Detroit Lions (MINI SKIRT) .  We got there pretty early so we played catch in the WFCU Centre parking lot, but nobody had a football so we used an (EGGPLANT).

We also gave a pair to Sandy, who’s meeting her friends at WILLISTEAD MANNOR wearing her lucky lions PANTS and tossing around a TOMATO. 🙂   We’ll do two more four-packs tomorrow, good luck!

The other big LIONS news for the weekend involves the Detroit Auto Show, which will host “All Roads Lead to Detroit: Celebration of the Detroit Lions” on Friday evening at Huntington Place.
The rally will feature appearances by Lions alumni Herman Moore, Joique Bell, Cory Schlesinger, Eddie Murray, and T.J. Lang.  Oh, and lots and lots of cars.  Cost is $10 to get in snap lots of pics if you make it!

Hello LIONS fan!  This is your one stop for ongoing playoff updates, hopefully the first of many.

First:  The game!!  The Detroit Lions will kick off their postseason run in the divisional round against the Washington Commanders. Kickoff is set for 8:00pm this Saturday night at Ford Field.

HOW DO I WATCH???   TV channel: Fox (Ch. 2 in Detroit).   Streaming live: Fubo (or… you know… something like nflbite.com for the ol’ ‘I don’t have cable’ stream if you don’t mind getting a virus or ten.)   Of course the best thing to do is to join some friends a great local spot.

Wherever you’re watching get home safely and dress appropriately.

Next :  The opponent!  What do we know about these ‘Commanders’ (*if that is their real name).  The Lions and Commanders last met in 2022, with Detroit winning 36-27.  This season the Commanders posted an impressive 12-5 record—their best since 1991, the year they last won the Super Bowl.  This weekend they doinked their way past the Bucs with a last second field goal.    The Lions will definitely have their paws full.

Third:  The injury report.  The great news, Tori’s boyfriend Alex Anzelone is back, he was all over the field (and Tori’s dream) against the Vikings and will be keeping and eye or rooking standout quarterback Jayden Daniels.  The Lions will still be without LB Derrick Barnes (knee) and CB Carlton Davis (jaw)We’re hoping for good news on CB Terrion Arnold (ankle) but as of Tuesday morning he’s still a question mark.  Shockingly it appears that RB David Montgomery (*Knuckles) could be ready to compliment Gibbs (*Sonic) in the backfield.

Finally:  Predictions!   In case this matters to you here is what Vegas says as of now:

Spread: Lions by 8½.
Point total: 54.5.
Moneyline: Lions -550; Commanders +400.

Put your self on the record by messaging us before kickoff.  Here are a couple so far, we’ll shout-out the closest on Monday:

Jay:  Lions  34-22
Tori:   Lions  23-7
Amanda from Lakeshore:  Lions  42-21
Michelle from Windsor:  Lions  30-12
Jason from Windsor:  Lions  29-28
Cassandra from Leamington:  Lions 21-20

GO LIONS!  More updates as we get closer to gametime.  We’d love to see how you show your Lion pride, send your LIONS pics to jay@mix967.ca or find us on Facebook if that’s easier.
