HOMEGROWN HIT – Dave Russell ‘Safe Space’

Welcome to the first episode of an infinite-episode series we will call the Mix 96.7 Homegrown Hit.   Since this is the first one we’d better go big.

DAVE RUSSELL – Safe Space

On this week’s episode we are highlighting Dave Russell, a local artist who’s Safe Space comes straight from the heart of Windsor, and he actually recorded this track right down the street from us in beautiful Walkerville.  This is not your typical “I’m lonely, maybe I should bake some bread” pandemic song.  This rocks, and it rocks even more with the knowledge that it’s a (wait for it… …)  homegrown hit.  (That’s called ‘branding’, and I nailed it.)

During our chat I will either compliment or insult Dave by comparing him to some other artists he reminds me of, so we’ll see how that goes.  We’ll also name-drop some of his favourite spots to perform in Windsor.  And yes… … he IS playing live again!

Enjoy, and please support local artists.  You can get more of Dave Russell’s music below.  And make sure you tune in to the world radio premier of Safe Space on the Hit List this weekend.  We do it 6pm-8pm on Saturday, 1pm-3pm on Sunday and one more time from 1pm-3pm this holiday Monday!
