Eric Church Takes Stage Without Signature Sunglasses

Eric Church surprised fans at Tampa’s Benchmark International Arena by walking onstage without his iconic sunglasses during the final show of his 46-date “Free The Machine” tour on April 11th. 

The rare mishap occurred while Church was distracted by a broken left foot from kicking a suitcase two days earlier in Jacksonville.

“I jumped out of bed, forgot about a suitcase at the end of the bed. I kicked the (blank) out of that suitcase… And I broke my left foot.” 

Halfway through opening song “Hands Of Time,” a crew member noticed the missing accessory and quickly delivered the sunglasses via his background vocalist. 

Church later told the audience his wife was focused on his foot injury and forgot the glasses.
