Powell, Murray (Age 73, Wroxeter)

Murray Russell Powell of Wroxeter passed away peacefully, after a long and courageous journey, on Saturday, April 18, 2026, in his 74th year.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 25 years, Kay (Wilken) Powell, whom he loved dearly, and by his children Michael & Melissa Ross of Wroxeter, and Sherri & Brad Weatherall of Cargill.

Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Maya, Ethan, Quinten, Jordyn, and Bennett, who will cherish his memory.

Dear brother of Kathleen Powell of Toronto, Jane & Brian Elliott of Waterloo, Wilson Powell of California, Carol & John Crawford of Wingham, Rick & Carolyn Powell of Seaforth, and Donna & Randy Ladd of Montana.

Predeceased by his parents Russell & Gertrude Powell.

Murray will be remembered for his contagious laugh and big, welcoming smile, as well as his kindness and steady presence.  He deeply loved his family and took great pride in the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.  He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all who knew him.

Murray leaves behind a legacy of good friends and fond memories of love with those closest to him.

A private family funeral service will be held, followed by a public Celebration of Murray’s Life will be held at Wallace Arena Auditorium (6670 Line 88, Gowanstown) on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance at 2:00 p.m.

Interment in Hawkesville Cemetery.

Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or Wingham Care Partners would be appreciated, and may be made through Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
