Kastner, Gordon (Age 93)

It is with sadness that the family of Gordon Philip Kastner announce his passing at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Walkerton on July 25, 2026, at the age of 93.

Born on March 23, 1933, Gordon was the son of the late George Kastner and Emma (Knoll) Kastner.

Gordon shared a lifetime of love, friendship, and partnership with his best friend, Helen Kastner (née McMullen). He was a devoted father to Lisa Borgford and a proud Papa to Alesha (Chris) Forsyth, Courtney (Sean) Chowaniec, and Dana Borgford (Lorne). He was also a cherished Papa to his great-grandchildren, Lillian, Waylon, Gentry Gordon, Olivia, and Deacon. He will also be lovingly remembered by his extended family, many friends, and his faithful white dove, Cricket.

A lifelong farmer, Gordon spent more than 67 years living and working on the farm he loved, where he and Helen built their life together and raised their family. Farming was more than his livelihood—it was his way of life. Known as a true handyman, Gordon could build, repair, or fix just about anything, and he took great pride in doing every job to perfection. He was someone his family and friends could always count on, generously giving his time and talents to help others whenever they were needed.

When he wasn’t tending to the farm or working on a project, Gordon enjoyed spending time outdoors. He especially loved fishing and hunting, with deer hunting being one of his favourite pastimes.

Gordon leaves behind a legacy of hard work, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family and his farm. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Helen, his daughter, Lisa, and all who knew him. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren will forever cherish the memories they made with their Papa. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
Friends and relatives are invited to visitation from 2:00 to 4:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Cameron’s in Walkerton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at Sacred Heart Church, Walkerton.
Interment in Calvary Cemetery, Walkerton.
Reception to follow at Cameron’s in Walkerton.
