Celebrity Status – Drake’s Place, Whoopi , And ‘Wednesday’
May 9, 2024 10:35 amFor Thursday, May 9th:
There’s never a dull moment at Drake‘s place, apparently. Just a day after one of his security guards was wounded in a drive-by shooting outside his Bridle Path mansion, Toronto Police responded to a call of an unwanted guest trying to gain access to the property. A ‘person in crisis’ was arrested under the mental health act.
Whoopi Goldberg has new memoir out, called “Bits and Pieces: My Mother, My Brother and Me.” In it she mentions how her ‘Sister Act’ costar Maggie Smith comforted her all night after her mother’s death, saying
“She is one of those people for whom I would do anything.”
Today on Netflix… Will Forte’s comedic thriller ‘Bodkin’ about a group of podcasters who discover more than they bargained for in an idyllic Irish town… and the rom-com ‘Mother of the Bride’, which stars Brooke Shields, Benjamin Bratt, and Miranda Cosgrove goes to Thailand. Reviews say it’s a sweet, cute and totally predictable rom-com.
The final trailer for ‘Furiosa: a Mad Max Saga’ is out now. It stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth and hits theatres in two weeks.
‘Wednesday’ Season 2 just added some new cast members including Steve Buscemi. Netflix announced this week that production had started in Ireland.
