Will Smith publicly apologized to Chris Rock for Oscars slap, calling it ”Unacceptable and inexcusable,” adding “There is no place for violence in a world of love and kindness.” For his part, Chris Rock also apologized… and declined to press charges. At the end of the day, both actions were inappropriate. The Academy will explore further action and consequences.
Plenty of things were lost in the shuffle yesterday in the Oscar aftermath, including Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum’s The Lost City opening. It earned a better-than-expected $31 million. The Batman came in second with 20 million.
“Saturday Night Live” co-head writer Michael Che says he’s leaving “Weekend Update.” He has been behind the desk with Colin Jost since 2014. In an Instagram post Sunday, Che did say he’s “not leaving” the show.
It sounds like Tom Cruise‘s long-delayed Top Gun: Maverick will make its debut at the Cannes Film Festival which starts May 17th
There’s a new trailer for season two of Only Murders in the Building, which returns in June…. and it’s one month to Ozark – the final episodes.
