Celebrity Status – Box Office Bad Guys, Watergate, Elon Musk And TMI

At the box office over the weekend, The Bad Guys took the #1 spot with 24 Million followed by Sonic the Hedgehog 2 with $15.2 Million. Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore was third…and new movies The Northman and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent only managed 4th and 5th respectively.
Gaslit is the story of the Watergate scandal, starring Sean Penn and Julia Roberts. It premiered Sunday on Starz, part of the Amazon Prime network.
Production on Aziz Ansari’s directorial debut Being Mortal was shut down last week due to a complaint accusing Bill Murray of inappropriate behaviour. No word on what that behaviour was or what that means for the movie at this point.
At the Kennedy Center Honors yesterday Jon Stewart, the former host of “The Daily Show,” was this year’s recipient of the Mark Twain prize for lifetime achievement in comedy.
Twitter IS negotiating to sell the company to Tesla billionaire Elon Musk. They could settle on a deal by this week. The two sides reportedly met Sunday, 10 days after Musk offered $43 billion for the platform.
