At the movies, Mark Wahlberg drank glasses of olive oil to gain weight for his new movie. He had to pile on 30 pounds in six weeks to play real life boxer-turned-priest Father Stuart Long in ‘Father Stu’, opening today. And if it doesn’t do well that’s OK…He’s likely to make a couple of bucks on his house. The 30,000-square-foot mansion is listed at 87.5 million dollars.
In other movie news, if you didn’t get around to seeing ‘The Batman’ in theatres it’s coming to Crave on Monday…. and there’s a trailer for the animated ‘Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank’, about a down-on-his-luck hound played by Michael Cera, who finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero. Samuel L. Jackson, Ricky Gervais, Michelle Yeoh, George Takei and Mel Brooks also voice parts. The film is only in theatres July 15th.
Comedian and actor Gilbert Gottfried has passed away at the age of 67 after a lengthy illness. His family urged his fans to remember him for what he did best, saying “Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honor.”
Will Ferrell is the latest star to join the cast of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie, joining Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon and America Ferrera.
In case you needed to know…it seems Ben Affleck proposed to Jennifer Lopez while she was in the bathtub.
The fourth season of Stranger Things on Netflix is promising to be the most action-packed yet. The new trailer promises ‘war is coming…’
